Bambie says that the EBU forced them to remove the word "ceasefire" from their face an hour before the performance or otherwise not be allowed to perform. What's also interesting is that RTÉ had previously fought the EBU in order to "allow" ceasefire on their face.

Ireland is my winner this year and I am so proud of the Irish representative no matter what happens.

She couldn't have worded it better, ugh, MY WINNER. On Saturday I'm gonna go bankrupt voting for her.

This was utter garbage and an obvious Chanel ripoff to ride her coattails. No thank you

Completely. I was so embarrased as a Spanish... I'd take #17 a thousand times with Blanca Paloma, but with proud artistry, or even potentially tank a thousand times with Nebulossa, but having fun and being disruptive.

This dated "I'm Spanish, fuegggo, calientttte" cliché with a dancebreak trying to imitate Chanel so blatantly (and failing misserably, making it 100 times worse) can fade into oblivion.

Lol, I mean, it could be better, but I like the concept of all male performers (and at least the dancers being queer). It's so common to have a female singer with male dancers at Eurovision that it felt refreshing

Last year Belgium had a guy voguing on stage. That was beautiful

Måneskin was a staging anomaly for Italy the way The Common Linnets were a staging anomaly for the Netherlands. Both staging directors did great work on that one entry and then just didn't deliver on any of the others.

I personally have always been boycotting the EBU and not wanting to give money to the broadcasters (in my case I have SIMs for LRT and RAI), but Bambie's strong pro-Palestine adovacy makes me want to vote for them (as an Irish person). Just unsure what to do. I think a mass-movement would need to happen in support of pro-Palestinian advocacy.

Slimane's performance looks fantastic and the reaction from the audience was strong. I still think France will do better than many think. Slimane is a dark horse. I'm looking forward to finally seeing the performance on TV today :heart2:

Exactly! I like that we have sent three completely different entries. I like variety. If we had sent Caliente, it would have been so reductive and the easy thing to do. Would we have gotten a better result? Maybe. Or maybe not. He looked stiff, didn't know the words in the final and the "dance break" was honestly laughable. And the song was just embarrasing. At least Zorra is an actually good song that basically won for how catchy and a bop it is. Had we sent Caliente we would have put ourselves in a box and doomed to sent versions of girlbops about how hot and sexy the singer is every year to appease Europe and make them vote for us.

Yeah, but I mean we have two queer men dancing and showing ass this year which is also pretty fun too. I honestly prefer a middle aged woman singing about the misogyny she experienced than a hot man singing about... nothing in special. We already had Chanel two years ago. We should space out the generic "fuego, caliente, woo" songs so they carry more impact when we send them, imo

Still think the competition is way more open than the odds would have you believe. I'd be confident in Croatia winning if the other 5 Balkan countries participated but idk.. Ukraine could still take it and the locals will love Europapa. Italy is definitely OUT though.

I meant on the tv broadcast. You can hear more i the arena, yes.

yeah i wouldn't be surprised if they pre-record and edit in some random audience reaction for the tv-broadcast today or grand final after all. the very laud applause before and after their performance yesterday was just a random track, because of the stark difference between the taped recording and the arena videos it's just much more noticeable.

Serbia, Albania, Slovenia and Greece all vote. 4 balcan countries... also Austria and Italy, are both less than 50 km away from Croatia's border.

Yes but Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Romania participating would definitely help a lot.

Yet another win for Bambie I fear

Why did Italy hire dancers? The main attraction of their staging lied in the fact that she was alone on stage, she shined so effortlessly that way. Now, the whole performance looks congested and confusing. Bummer!

Most of Netherlands' hype comes from Dutch people btw. It's not going to win.

So there's a possibility we get rid of the flimsy dibblepiss from Greece AND Israel tonight? Well let me manifest.

I really need Croatia to pull in the win. :noparty:

I think Ukraine is a solid top 5 entry, but not deserving of another win so soon after their last one. :doc:

The only bright side of Ukraine winning is Croatia would probably get to host Eurovision if they got second..
