Bloodflowers. Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Greece could have the worst staging of the night and she would still qualify because her song is THAT good and strong I need Chechia Huntress to pull sLOVEnia tonight and also qualify! 2
Komet Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Dare I say that Finland is gonna get more televote than Netherlands? 1

Also Helena performed No1 like 3 years ago on that roof, she could've done Die for You at least this year. Yes, the superior Paparizou tune. That would've been something! 1

Anthinos Posted May 9 Posted May 9 I don't understand the hate against Joost. I just saw his performance and thought it was good. The audience seems to like him too. I was expecting something worse. He won't win and I don't see him in the top 5, but I don't think he'll flop completely. Europapa is a bop. 2
Paola Bracho Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Italy serves "doing everything to eliminate every chance to win"!!! The outfit, the choreo, the graphics, her hair... I caaan't! 1

I think it's because of the very in your face/annoying promo / his fans. I agree the song is good, the performance is nothing special. Overall 2-4 points from me, depending on how I feel that day.
elvenOCEAN Posted May 9 Posted May 9 (edited) Imagine if Helena served us (I Would) Die for You - (Mambo) - The Light in Our Soul (huge Celine Dion circa 1999/2000 vibes)! Now, THAT would be a performance to remember! The retro vibes phew Edited May 9 by elvenOCEAN 1
Komet Posted May 9 Posted May 9 The NQs for tonight: 100%: - Albania - non-event - Latvia - non-event - Denmark - somehow less impactful than at their NF, she seemed very shaky Borderline: - Czechia - a better performer would've made this a likely Q, but... yeah - San Marino - it's visually stunning and it stands out, but overall a bit messy and the song isn't quite catchy - Malta - still giving 'we have slomo at home', and she fumbled that vocal run at the end. could see it going either way - Estonia - there doesn't seem to be any kind of concept here, it comes across as random yelling and jumping Probably Q, but potentially 'shock' NQs. - Austria - the biggest disappointment of the year, that leaked video is much more impactful than this. The only part that comes close is the second drop where she's DANCING but then she starts getting randomly thrown around for the bridge, like ??? The light show is also disappointing, that hanging prop is useless and you can barely see it, + she's out of pitch even on the first (1st) note. Maria Sur outsold - Belgium - boring staging and at times awful vocals, this song deserved so much better. - Israel - the staging is as predictable and bland as the song, it doesn't elevate it at all. Going from blue lightinh to gold for the final chorus? Groundbreaking. It's hard to tell how are the politics gonna impact this since there's no negative votes Georgia should be safe, but I wouldn't be bewildered if they stayed in the semi since the song is messy
Anthinos Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Nemo's performance looks cool. I have goosebumps. Definitely top 3 and potential winner. Still, I hope Croatia wins so that Eurovision is in the Balkans again.

The man is a marketing genius and his TikToks over the past year even leading up to the announcement were entertaining. The delegation saying that his performance will something never before done and that you'd wonder if it was physically possible, him teasing that there is more to the performance after the initial meltdowns/bookmaker odds dropping (the gag ended up being the ending) and his stans making up every excuse/theory as to why his rehearsals were looking bad. They were going around on twitter/reddit saying that the performance will use Augmented Reality (not actually possible, they actually mean cheap effects ala Poland the last two years) Honestly, he seems like an OK live performer in his normal field but because Eurovision is SO rehearsed and not off the cuff, I think he's struggling.

I hope to see more of this in the future This was utter garbage and an obvious Chanel ripoff to ride her coattails. No thank you 1

His vocals shocked me how bad they were, like he was out of breath already during the intro
Kitty Kat Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Bambie says that the EBU forced them to remove the word "ceasefire" from their face an hour before the performance or otherwise not be allowed to perform. What's also interesting is that RTÉ had previously fought the EBU in order to "allow" ceasefire on their face. Ireland is my winner this year and I am so proud of the Irish representative no matter what happens. 1 1
Dev Posted May 9 Posted May 9 (edited) Sarah has to nail that high note at the end. That's the only thing that stops her performance from being 100% flawless. I forgot what pre party performance she did, but she hit it in that one. She's the underdog in semi final 2. Rooting for her. Edited May 9 by Dev 1

dumbsparce Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Don't know if this has already been discussed but what do you guys think the audience reaction will be when Israel performs? Will they be booing, will the commentators pretend that there's no genocide going on etc? Youtube comments under their videos are 100% positive but there are probably interns who remove any negative ones as soon as they're posted.
Fevesy Posted May 9 Posted May 9 When I say even this is better than Kaleen's actual Eurovision performance? Like *****, all we need is some close camera shots of you dancing during the beat drop, some pre-recorded vocals + backup singer and it was a cute top 10.

You could hear some light booing, but also light cheering and clapping. 2
