ainadalkaz Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Shazam didn't deserve to flop so hard, it was good and the visuals were amazing for the budget. but also it's what the DCU lowkey deserves for being a mess and if they really cast Robbie as Sue Storm, they better have huge names cast in the other roles cuz lord knows she can't win at the box office... tragic
stochastic Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 More of a dismal flop compounded by the fact that 2 and 3 were covid releases

TheBoss Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Omg the numbers for all of those movies are horrible I've always heard DC was a flop but wow
zasderfght Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 While the first movie was fun, I really didn't think it was anything special. Combine that with recent superhero movie fatigue, I can't say I'm too surprised this didn't do well.
zasderfght Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 That being said, The Suicide Squad is a legitimately great movie. It sucks it underperformed. Birds of Prey, while not as great, was still loads of fun. Also bummed it didn't do too well.
Poxy Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 SHAZAM #1, part of the new Dawn of DC lineup, in stores today! Visit your local comic book shop!
Gorjesspazze9 Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 (edited) I knew it was a flop, but damn. Ant-man is considering as one of Marvels biggest underperforming movies ever and it still made 4x more than Shazam and they had the same budget. Edited May 14, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
EmailMySwift Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Warners were going to dump this 15M movie to streaming while spending 125M on Shazam2? It will pass Shazam 2 this week
Pink Ranger Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 I mean it’s even more embarrassing when WW1989 & TSS we’re day and day release on HBO Max and BOP was at the beginning of the pandemic. At least with those 3 you can somewhat make excuses for their poor box office, this has zero excuses.
