Safe&Sound Posted May 12, 2023 Share Posted May 12, 2023 I know she just got one of thr biggest hits last year, About Damn Time and won ROTY with it But anything around her album was a flop despite being a collaboration with hitmaker A collab with Cardi B, a remix by PNAU (Cold Hearts), a remix by SZA and all of them failed to become a stable hit She was totally saved by TikTok What do you guys think about her next album's possibility? It shouldve gave funk pop diva based on ADT but instead the songs she pushed were horrible after that song. Grrrls, 2 Be Loved, Special are all horrible! Mr. Duff Posted May 12, 2023 Share Posted May 12, 2023 To be honest, her streams aren't that special. About Damn Time was huge but it barely has 700M streams, at this point I thought it'd be at 1B. Maybe it's just me, but I really thought the song was massive. I feel like she is in a big risk to flop unless she finds herself another Tik Tok hit, or radio gets on board with her new music. Her comeback with Cardi B "Rumors" flopped despite the first week hype (it doesn't even have 200m on spotify) so TikTok saved her with About Damn Time and that didn't translate for the album success. She got an extra life in the industry with ADT but the overall scenario is not looking good for her. it was just that, an extra life, it didn't in fact made her got on the public eye that much again as we could see with her album stats. She needs to comeback with another era as soon as end of 2023/beggining of the next year (at the most) and it needs another clear smasha as a lead single. She kinda can't have the privilege to miss.
