I'm disappointed the album isn't as electro and house influenced as Padam/Tension but at least the sound is fresh and euphoric.

im a few tracks in and it sounds very flat and condensed. im listening in airpods. on HOTN her vocals were quite low in the mix

Just listened to the black vinyl and the sound quality is shocking, it lowkey feels like sabotage  She needs to fire whoever approved that, it sounds like a worn-out cassette  It could be just my copy, though. Hopefully the colored variants are better.

Yea the problem with Kylie albums is the fact that there's always a lot of filler. I feel the same with this album, disco, like every album of hers except Fever & maybe X

This is the woman that paid dust to songs like Tightrope, Sparks, Cherry Bomb, etc and releasing amazing random singles with no promo like Timebomb.

She's known for leaving many of her best material out of her albums for some reason. That's never changing now that she's in her 50's

Hands, Green Light and Love Train. Would have preferred tracks like Running, Electric,  Unlimited Love, Heavenly Body, Talk To Me and Moonlight that didn't make the cut.

Well for me, the only standout tracks are padam, tension, story, hold onto now and maybe Vegas high & somebody to love

 

The rest aren't clicking for me but I'll need more listens

I feel like my biggest problem with this is most of the songs sound quintessentially like an old lady making empowering pop anthems.

Things We Do For Love and You Still Get Me High are really not for me. Hold On To Now belongs to that genre but is miles better.

From my first listen, rating of new songs:

 

10/10 Hold On To Now - perfect third single choice, represents a mature sound to the ablum

10/10 Things We Do For Love - love seeing her give a "modern" interpretation of the 80s sound, especially since she lived the era herself.

10/10 One More Time - bop  Gives me Light Years vibes in the best way

10/10 You Still Get Me High - another modern updated 80s sound, sounds like it should be the soundtrack of a film's ending credits

08/10 Hands - this is cute. Spoken word bits take me out compared to the chorus.

09/10 Green Light - like Real Groove & Miss A Thing's slinkier cousin. Really like this.

11/10 Vegas High - now I get the raves for this  This needs to be the next single after Hold On To Now. It's an ANTHEM and will go AWF on her Vegas residency, obviously. It's like an even more elevated Supernova.

09/10 Story - a cute little bop. Closes the standard edition quite nicely. The production is '80s heaven!

08/10 Love Train - Enjoyable bop & kinda silly. The Super Mario reference kills me and is how I know she recorded it this year.  

09/10 Just Imagine - this is more like it. Atmospheric  

10/10 Somebody To Love - definitely the best of the bonus tracks. So well produced and even single worthy. Should have made the standard. Closes out the album so well overall.
