This woman doesn't stop :jonny: Keeping us well fed :clap3:

Her biggest advantage over most pop girls is really not just her success, popularity, longevity, impact and influence but the fact that she has been consistently serving quality and quantity is really her best trait. I'm not exaggerating when I say we are so blessed to live in the same lifetime with someone like her. Truly one and if not the last of her kind.

She’s a work horse omfg :rip:

Well she hasn't toured in a few years and capitalizing off her reignited but well deserved and overdue mainstream global success is the smartest decision. Especially if she's inspired and motivated, she's more ambitious then most current pop girls that are suppose to be at their prime right now and still repeaking unlike some girls of her generation. A literal Aphrodite.

7.3 from pitchfork!! her second highest on arrival score (after Fever's 7.6) :clap3:

can't wait for the album in 24 hours! I love all the Hold on to Now praise all the publications are giving, I knew I wasn't the only one who felt that (from the leak) it sounds like one of Robyn's finest songs :heart2:

It was kinda interesting that 'DISCO' grew on me only after the 'Extended Versions' album out. I tried so hard to genuinely love that album and only 'Extended' one made it one of my favorite in Kylie catalog. The songs were COMPLETELY different to me back then. I wonder if she's gonna do it again with 'Tension' :katie:

Yes, two.

Surprised by the Pitchfork score; I thought she would be dragged to the pits.

To be fair all critic reviews have been positive thus far so it's more polarising among long term fans than amongst the more casual listeners, which is what critics tend to be.

I was expecting a 5.5 or something like Disco and Golden, but the 7.3 is really pleasing to me. That's higher than or on par with several recent albums by artists with more vocal fanbases, such as Midnights, Speak Now TV, The Loneliest Time, The Loveliest Time, Dirt Femme etc.

I actually expected something around 7 - 7.5, now this album is not her masterpiece but it's her best since Aphrodite

I’ve just had my first full listen and I’m so overwhelmed right now, hearing a new Kylie album is always a special moment. My first impression is that it’s a very solid work, although I’m not completely sold on it for the moment. I have to admit it feels like her least inspired record out of her BMG trilogy, but its highs are higher than most of Golden or Disco.

Padam Padam and Tension definitely remain the top 2 for me, they’re the most fresh and daring tracks that will for sure remain the moments most people will associate this album with in the future. Hold On To Now is another major win, it feels like a cross between The One and Say Something (Infinite Disco Version), but with the euphoria cranked up to the max. It’s sublime and could make a stellar 3rd single.

Completing my personal top 5 there’s One More Time (so groovy!) and Story (her high notes ended me!) which might be one of her best album closers ever.

I love Hands and adore Green Light, they’re outliers on the album but feel like a breath of fresh air among the ‘80s inspired synth-heavy tracks. I can see why some people won’t like them though (especially Green Light as it indeed sounds like it belongs to Disco, and is like a little sister to Miss a Thing).

The reason I’m not carried away with the album is that I did not care much for Things We Do For Love (it’s cute but Kylie on autopilot), You Still Get Me High (also fine but it’s like a watered down Lost Without You), and of course 10 Out Of 10 (still don’t think it’s bad, but it’s completely forgettable), which amounts to 3 misses on an already very short album. I’ll spin the deluxe CD later today to see if it possibly evens things out, until then I’d give Tension a solid 7.5 / 10 based on first listen :clap3:

Anyone that bought the album from her official store got it? Or at least did it ship already?

I'm still waiting :jonny6:

Damn she sounds so young, energic and clear on Vegas High

Hands sounds promising.

I'm disappointed the album isn't as electro and house influenced as Padam/Tension but at least the sound is fresh and euphoric.
