rta1913 Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Not f***ing Drake… What can help Kylie is that the UK charts do not take into account the streaming of the 3 biggest songs, which is Doja and Drake’s forte. They are not big pure sellers. What we may get screwed on is a top 10 peak for Tension the single. Also rooting for a top 10 debut in the US.
Uncatena Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 a US Top 10 album would be INSANE, considering Fever was her last one I hope the Vegas residency helps
AM98GJ Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 looool yea I have no fear RE her getting the #1 album
Popboi. Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 (edited) I think outcharting Aphrodite and DISCO is extremely likely. Promo has been better, Padam resonated better than Say Something and Get Outta My Way and she only had 2 (black and blue) vinyl variants and the standard CD for DISCO in US, while she has standard, deluxe and target CDs, 4 cassette and 6 vinyl variants for Tension. 40k maybe? I'm a Love Affair, Fragile, Secret, Like a Drug, Closer and Cupid Boy believer. Love Affair is one of the greatest pop songs of all time, it's just perfect honestly. Too Much really resonated with me earlier this year. What a perfect pop song. The precursor to We Found Love (and better too). 2
theweekend Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 top 10 in US is VERY unlikely. a top 50 would be great considering her situation. streaming made it impossible for older artists to chart high unless they pull out HUGE pure sales first week.

DISCO almost went top 20 in a way more competitive time and less push and hype.

If the gays united and gave Charli XCX out of all people a top 10 album, I don’t think it is super unlikely for Kylie to get one. i’ma say top 20 for sure

QueenofCopyPaste Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Will she prevail over Drake? in the UK

Although he’s got great longevity, his openings in the UK aren’t particularly huge. His last 2 albums opened with 27k and 46k respectively (in comparison, Disco opened with 55k), while Tension is currently predicted to debut with 60-70k.
Virgos Groove Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 BMG will nuke Toronto before they let Kylie debut at #2, let's be real 3

ithinkheknowsoutsold Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Also, if Drake were to be in the running for the top spot, then BMG would basically repeat what they did during the Little Mix release week and have Kylie pull out all stops to go number one. I can see them doing the free shipping thing that's making rounds on the UK charts lately, pair that with signed CDs and she could even make it to 80,000 first week.

Girl disco went #26 with only 19k sales. The cut off to go top 20 in these weeks is literally well over 35.000 units sold. To go top 10 you need over 40k. Charts havent been this strong since like 2012-2013
SupremeGoddess Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 time to officially remove 0 out of 10 from the track list and add peggy gou remixes of tension and padam padam to boost up streaming sales 3

Saint James Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 i can’t imagine her reaction if she gets forced to sign a bunch of cds or tiktoks etc i suspect she hasn’t been pressured for like 10 years or more
