Femalien Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 This album is all skips/filler the sinister excellence of padam and tension having nor a shred of presence elsewhere on the album These tracks sounds like songs from stream me once... 2 8
modern thing Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 the singles were good (Padam) and great (Tension), but the album is mostly filler, lifeless tracks and some really bad ones (10 out of 10 is still terrible) also the critical response shows that how the artist is perceived in a certain moment really impacts the reviews... in no way this is a 9/10 record happy for the Kylie revivalism, but this is a bit over the top 5 5

It’s an outstanding dance pop record and deserves all of the acclaim it’s getting. If a dozen journalists from across regions ‘get it’, that’s more than some biased perception. Obviously taste is subjective and you’re entitled to not enjoy it - but just read through this thread and you’ll see what an impact this album is already having on so many of us ❤️ 1
Heldenzeit Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Things We Do For Love I'm not completely sure why but this song GETS to me. 2

Mordecai Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Also just wanna say that I really, really like the cover art. It's just so aesthetically pleasing - the colour scheme, the diamond and the pose, the fonts, it's so good 1

shark_heather Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE the album . At the moment i listen to all of it but do you guys think the order of the tracklist is completely wrong ? One song after the other doesn't make any sense at all I did my own playlist and i used the order i think it fits more Let me know what you think *** Hands , Green Light and Just Imagine should be the deluxe tracks in my opinion. Hands and GL are great songs , but it feels like they dont fit at all to the general feel of the album since they are Disco rejects
RT Air Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 One more review has been added and she’s still sitting comfortably with 86 on MC https://www.metacritic.com/music/tension/kylie-minogue

Minogue Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 (edited) I just woke up with the realization how insane everything is during this era. I started to really become a fan of Kylie post KMO probably like many of you that are in their early 20s. I obviously always had a wish of major commercial success for her but deep inside knew that it probably won’t happen and that’s fine she has nothing left to prove. 2014-2018 I wasn’t even sure how passionate she is about releasing which was also fine by me. But then for the past 5 years, little by little, she collected another achievement and another achievement, her status and likability grew again I even heard Magic and SS a little bit out and about in my country which I barley hear older pop girls played here on radios or just in general. but even then I thought it would probably end there. Fast forward to today where she’s having top 10 hits, more songs on UK AM than someone like Doja Cat during album drop and allegedly about to have the biggest opening this decade in Australia. in 2023 (and let’s me real for a long time already) Kylie was either on par or outselling big time artist that 20-25 years ago outsold her 10 or 20 times over. It’s absolutely mind blowing and insanely inspirational to me consistency is truly everything in life. Edited September 23, 2023 by Minogue 11
izzyinsane Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I don't care what anyone says. Vegas Baby is better than Vegas High. Such a beautiful song that deserved to be on the album. Her vocals were more raw, emotional, and it brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it. Such a gem.
Kern Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I'm floored with Tension live version best song EVER 1

I find it very weird hearing HOTN after Padam but it feels perfect the other way around Also HOTN is a great album opener

Nashe Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I gotta be honest, I'm disappointed. I expected her to serve a sexy record with bangers in the vein of Padam and Tension, but it sounds just like an AI'd Kylie album. Kinda giving me the feeling of the majority of songs being leftovers from Disco and Golden.... 2
Bloodflowers. Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Happy to see this success for Kylie
Nashe Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I love the singles, Things We Do For Love and Hold On To Now tho! I'll play the album a couple more times, hope it grows
RockStarShit101 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Green Light is the best song on Tension.

blown away Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Vegas High is really that *****. Best song on the album methinks. It slaps especially when driving at night.
