Is she going to get number 1 in any country? I'm confused by the way her fans are speaking. What are the facts?

Nothing is dead set yet, but the song debuted top 40 (her first time in 9 years), it’s on course to enter the UK top 20 in its 2nd week, and she hasn’t even set foot in the country since the era began. Mind you her last top 20 single was Into The Blue in 2014, so this would be amazing already. Padam’s also playlisted and played on radio stations she used to be snubbed on, and A list rotation is only beginning this week. Top 15 on Apple Music UK, top 100 on Spotify UK – both unprecedented feats for Kylie. Physical singles are to be released next week and that’s usually her strongest format. It’s all shaping up to become bigger and bigger in the coming weeks, but with all things considered it’s a major win already that no one saw coming. :clap3:

Well I hope she does get a number 1!

I think what they should do is commission a mash up of Padam Padam with Can't Get You Out of My Head (Kylie's most well-known track), and then incentivize medium-sized TikTok users (around 100,000 to 1 million followers) to use a sped up version of that mash up in their videos as background music. Trying to force a TikTok challenge is so 2020, if they want this build up any traction there it needs to be promoted very subtly and without viewers feeling like it was shoved down their throats.

While that could work, I’d rather Padam Padam remained a moderate hit than having CGYOOMH stealing the thunder again, further pigeonholing Kylie into a ‘heritage act’ category. :noparty: If this becomes a hit, at least it will happen organically and not due to Kylie cheapening her brand with TikTok collabs and chipmunk versions.

I think a potential mash up could have the Padam acapella over the CGYOOMH instrumental, keeping the focus mainly on Padam and ensuring CGOOYMH is just a safety net for the song, since that is the more recognisable song out of the two.

Not gonna lie I’d love to hear that because that Padam / Head transition on American Idol was a serve already :jonnycat: I’d just prefer if the focus remained on the original song because she’s finally getting some recognition for a new output

While I do agree at the same time when you think about it, it's actually refreshing she didn't go that route. We've had so many videos with her in a club setting. My only gripe is just how low budget this whole retro post apocalyptic the music video was and the editing. Like why was she sitting and laying down most of the video? More long shots of her doing the choreography with the dancers would've been awesome

That's crazy that nothing from Golden or Disco charted considering how good both of those albums were. Why were radio stations snubbing her if she's such a beloved pop figure? With the way that this era is going it sets up her next singles for proper support. I hope she does tour. Imagine the setlist. A mix between the hits and a mash up of Disco and Tension yass

Ew no sped up or unnecessary mash ups please. Kylie serves everything but cringe lol she does need to get people to do the choreography as a challenge or lean into the memefication of the padam padam

No more like one with an official bridge and final chorus

I agree. Thank you for seeing the light lol

No considering this is sort of introduction to casual listeners and a reintroduction to the masses again, old fans etc. Ironically her sticking to a traditional way of rolling out has worked in her favors which is why her physical sales have always been good.

Exactly please don't force her to cater to kids just to go viral. She's above that and that's not even her demographic either.

The Golden and DISCO singles did great on UK radio (just not Capital or Radio 1), there was next to no streaming support whatsoever. Especially Dancing.

Lmfao radio is so fake because then when they interview her they stay kissing her ass but won't play her music? Electric chair

Weird, I thought Stop me from falling did pretty well, I remember hearing it on the polish radio very often and I thought it had some chart success.

‘Dancing’ was top 40 and is her only certified BMG single in the UK, I would say it was a minor hit and relatively well known. Weirdly, none of the Disco singles made much impact. I thought ‘A Second to Midnight’ would be another minor hit for her.

I’ll be calling my radio station tomorrow morning to request this, gonna tell them “I’m putting you on to the song of the summer, y’all can be the first ones to launch it in the us”
