This song is laced with crack. It's there when I go to sleep and when I wake up. The whole day is just non stop Padam in my head. If this would've come out during her imperial phase it would have been a monster hit.

[The Next Day]

I admit the song is growing on me, but it'll take time to click. I don't know what it is exactly, I kinda like the sound, although I prefer the instrumental of 10 out of 10.

 

I think I'm still adjusting to the new era after Golden and Disco. I know these albums are panned by a lot of fans and that's ok. In hindsight, I think they're very interesting for Kylie's vocal performances. Especially on Disco she uses her voice in a lot of diverse ways.

 

Padam Padam's vocals remind me of Aphrodite or KMO, which are Dance Kylie's voice territory. And Aphrodite took a lot of time for me to love as well, because I think her vocal performance is a bit monotonous on that album. Amazing, but a bit like on autopilot. Maybe that's why I'm still not warmed up to Padam Padam, despite being her catchiest single since All The Lovers.

 

Please don't read this as a drag towards anything. I'm just thinking out loud why I played Dancing and Say Something to death when they came out (and still do), while Padam Padam leaves me a bit cold.
