at this rate they don't even need to release another single, just a promo song for the fans and keep pushing padam until the album release. then they can go with tension.

Since when do we dislike GOMW?

On Topic - I think HOTN is technically a fine choice as second single. Padam is still going strong and actually gaining internationally. Album cycles tend to die after release week so if they release HOTN as kind of a transitional single in August, Tension can come on full force shortly after the album release and keep her momentum.

Releasing Tension first could potentially allow it to be canibalized by Padam.

HOTN - Late August

Tension - November

Kind of makes sense…

That makes sense actually

We've certainly got the singles for a long campaign and there will be a few surprises along the way," Jamie Nelson, SVP of U.K. Recordings at Kylie's label, BMG, says for Variety.

This looks like it's at a cute spot so far on the Taking Off! Pop Mediabase chart. Did the adds date already happen on Pop? There is literally NO reason why this shouldn't be smashing.

I believe it hasn't, but some stations will add it anyway now that it's been serviced. It already has 3 adds today and it will likely snatch a few more by the time the full report comes out

It isn't a LGBTQ night out in NYC if you didn't hear this song at least three times

No reason? She's a woman in her 50's, that is THE reason she won't get a hit on U.S radio. :rip:

True, but she’s a legend and the song has already made waves across the world.

I use it as a joke in my posts cause I often talk like that with my hands and face expressions lol

I was shook to read he has a doctorate. My experience with gym bros is that they are total air heads.

OT:

Yeah if Kylie was 25 we would be top 20 in the US by now.

Y'all are overestimating the effect ageism has had on this in the US thus far. It's number 53 on pop and number 45 on HAC, and it hasn't even gone for adds yet. Radio is supporting it a lot more than it has any reason to, considering Kylie's last top 40 hit on radio was almost 20 years ago now and the fact that stateside streaming, while highly respectable for an international older act, isn't insane.

To be honest, (imo) the US lost its spark in nowadays’ pop culture as Internet allowed other countries to export their culture and influence through entertainment, completely changing how people around the world consume media and build their taste.

South Korea became a true leader in nowadays’ entertainment, Reggaeton became massive as well as a genre and the US has not been able to properly provide counterparts to such shift.

(for example) As someone who’s been into Asian music for 15+ years now, and who basically experienced it both when it was something “niche” and now that’s “cool”, I find it puzzling that there are basically no American boybands and girlbands able to compete with K-Pop given how big America used to be in the game back then.

Of course I wish Kylie success in the entire Universe as she’s a true icon and the song is her best lead since Into The Blue, but as a fan I don't really care about success in the US today as I don’t consider it as key as it was 10 years ago.

I’m just happy the music is (very) good and she’s having fun :heart2:

I came here to post this. I hope it's a good thing since I don't understand how radio works in the US.

I believe Pop radio has 172 radio stations currently plus/minus… So it got four adds today meaning these radio stations have shown interest and are taking the initiative to add the song to their rotation.

Currently, Padam has received 7 total adds on Pop. It’s only been serviced to radio thus far, meaning radio can play it if they want, but BMG has not officially sent it for adds.

Some stations can be testing it as well without having officially added it yet.
