Relampago. Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 I am very proud to have never heard a Morgan Wallen song ever in my life I feel as though this is a sign I surround myself with great people
pride4jc1222 Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 Lil Durk didn't drop the album, but at least he put out the lead (feat. J Cole). However, it should be an easy 11th week at #1 for One Thing at a Time, which will pass his own Dangerous and SZA's SOS.
family.guy123 Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Just noticed Morgan jas 5 songs Top 30, 7 songs Top 70, 9 songs Top 80, and 11 songs charting total. Wow They really need to do something like the UK. For the purpose of the Hot 100, a songs streams should have the streams of the lowest streamed song subtracted from it. Therefore, the 200 becomes so that only the amount of streams of the lowest streamed songs multiplied by the amount of album tracks counts.

Songs that have been sent to radio are official singles and can chart on the Hot 100. The sales and streams of said singles shouldn't count for the album. Only those for the non-singles count. Once a song departs the Hot 100 its sales/streams once again count for the album. That way the Hot 100 won't be flooded by album bombs and albums that are driven by one massive hit single making up +50% of the albums streams will be filtered out as well. Spoiler Side note, radio needs to stop holding on to the same songs forever then. Otherwise some songs might chart over a year in the top 10. Edited May 13, 2023 by blown away

For one, the Hot 100 would be even more inaccurate as it stands right now. Under these rules, Ella Baila Sola would be ineligible to chart, which would be as ridiculous as Don't Speak never charting on the Hot 100. Instead, I think the US Billboard chart should adopt what the UK does and limit each artist to 3 songs charting at a time on the Hot 100. It will allow an artist's top songs to chart, while giving others the opportunity to chart as well. Besides, it's unlikely any artist would be pushing more than 3 songs at a time to radio. Secondly, streaming counts way too low on the BB 200. I'd first discount sales before I discount streaming. I think any bulk purchase of albums should be discounted, like second copy = .75 sale, third copy = .5 sale, and 4th copy = .25 sale. In that way, it will make it tougher for mass buyers to inflate the chart position of said album.

In that way, it will make it tougher for mass buyers to inflate the chart position of said album. Limiting the amount of songs an artist could chart at the same time is also an effective method. But the issue for me isn't how many songs are charting at the same time if they're all released as a single. It's the fact that songs are counting both for the singles and the albums chart, which gives a misleading statistic about the true popularity of an album. That's why I used radio as the defining metric of a single that can chart on the Hot 100. It doesn't mean it should have a certain amount of airplay. It just needs to be sent to radio. I don't see how Ella Baila Sola would not be able to chart that way. Isn't it sent to radio as a single? A rule like that would just separate actual popular albums that people actually listen to in full from albums whose numbers are inflated by one huge hit while the other tracks make no noise. I do agree with bulk purchase being discounted. Bulk purchasing is just as ridiculous as albums where one song makes up the vast majority of the streams.

I read this 5 times and still have no idea what exactly you said But something like that obviously greatly benefits short albums and hurts long albums. I dont get the point of that Also what about interludes or someone like Taylor often has voice memos or acoustic versions at the end of her albums My main change for the Hot 100 would be getting rid of recurrency. I dont care if songs chart for 5 years. And significantly lower radio

I dont care if songs chart for 5 years. And significantly lower radio It benefits albums that are listened to in their entirety, no matter the length. There’s another possibility that I’m not sure how to summarize so I’ll just try to explain with an example. 12 song album. Lowest song gets 10 m streams a week? Those 10 m streams x 12 tracks convert to album sales at 100%. Lowest song eliminated. Second lowest song had 11 m? Now in the second round, it has 1M (11m-10m). So then 1 m streams x 11 tracks concert to album sales at 91.67% (11/12) and so on and so forth. So the highest streamed track will have the streams of the second highest track subtracted from it, then converted to album sales at a rate of 8.3%. If you don’t want something to impact the chart performance of your album, don’t put it on your album. No more padding with “voice memos” and “acoustic versions”.

I dont get the point of that Also what about interludes or someone like Taylor often has voice memos or acoustic versions at the end of her albums My main change for the Hot 100 would be getting rid of recurrency. I dont care if songs chart for 5 years. And significantly lower radio It appears that Morgan will win Top Artist, Top BB200 Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist over Taylor this year at the Billboard awards later this year?

Idk much about that, but I would certainly think that Taylor will get BB200 And she is the favorite for Top Arist too It's the same tracking period as this now Taylor already in the lead as is a lot higher now with the tour boost. And the tour boxscore are still to come in too Morgan is higher too now, than in the beginning of the year, sure. But I'm feeling good about Taylor getting it Edited May 13, 2023 by simmnfierzig
