Charli said that there is no point in tearing each of them apart for not collabing. Ava liked the song but was in a relationship at the time (I don't know if she still is) and it didn't made sense for her to release the song. Same thing goes with UTKM. 

 

Although I personally wouldn't care, I can see why she wasn't keen on releasing songs with post-breakup message.

I personally do not think Charli would have answered the question at all or in that way if things were good between them.  She’s just not the type of person to say something like this and not add “but I hope we can work together in the future” or something like that.  She’s very strategic with how she talks about other artists on socials.

This, she may have bad personal experiences with Marina Diamandis and Sky Ferreira (even though she worked with them and cherish those memories) and she might think twice about working with them again, but she always talks positively about them in case they have/could work together in the future. 

 

She is smart. 

 

Same think about Kim Petras, she really likes her as a friend but after all the backlash she has received in the last 2 years she kinda stopped working with her but Charli keeps her mouth shut just in case. Keeping her image as unproblematic as she can.
