How long will this winning streak for Taylor last?

Her fan base will make her immune to commercial flopage. She may lose some critical/media appeal if she’s linked to personal drama, but she should be able to rebound.

Never anything unique? Lol, stopped reading there.

To answer your question. It will never end :heart2:

if she releases something risky and experimental, maybe dating Matty will push her into that direction

folklore, an album made in a month, surprise released in a midst of a global pandemic?

I'm sure they mean risky/experimental music that risks alienating her fanbase. Folklore is a mature/grounded version of what had come before. The material is not risky or experimental

After the re-releases eras end. She won’t flop per say but that’s when the decline will begin.

it'll take something huge. The only way i can see her losing her streak is if she completely and utterly fumbles her directorial debut. If that project goes horribly wrong she will be mocked and ridiculed relentlessly by the media. It's literally the only thing that can make her "lose". There's a lot of pressure on her for that project for sure and tbh it takes a lot of courage to direct a movie. I'm really excited for it and i'm sure it will be good. I'm just worried the public, media and critics are going to expect a masterpiece when in reality this will be her directorial debut and ppl should give her some grace and room to grow if it does end up being mediocre....

oh what's the tea on this? I can't believe I haven't heard about this, as a swiftie, lol

re: y'all talking about her going experimental

I think it's bound to happen at some point BUT further down the line. there'll be at least 2 more pop eras in addition to all the remaining TVs (however, I could see Reputation TV having a few experimental vault pop tracks in the vein of Charli or something like a harsher ...Ready For It?). I don't think she'll ever FULLY give up on pop, but I do think she'll continue to evolve quite a bit. now will she ever release a full ambient piece? probably not. will she pull out a Don Juan's Reckless Daughter? it's entirely possible, especially if she branches out to new collaborators...

omg you didnt know!? she is directing her own movie under Searchlight / Fox! She's working on the script as we speak. She talked about it during her Toronto Film Festival interview if I remember correctly :jonny2:

She says she wont direct a action movie and is more interested in narrative based films. I think she also mentioned being inspired and mentored by Guillermo Del Toro (he sent her tons of books about fairytales and mythology for inspiration and they apparently bond on that and speak regularly).

I'm super excited for it tbh. It's my most anticipated project of hers and it will be her most ambitious :jonny5:

It will never stop tbh, more likely she will release her 13th album and retire after that

If she keeps releasing forgettable music just like her latest album, she will eventually flop. She needs new actual hits that the GP in general and not just her fans consume. Also, aging will affect her eventually, just give it 5 more years, she won't be able to keep her girl next door image at 37, an alternative will eventually appear.

I think the only way it ends is if she's replaced by someone else.

Lover and reputation felt like 2 solid declines in a row, she isn't immune.

I don't think we're merely talking about decline for her standards here. It's happened.

It's about a real flop like Bionic or Glitter

Ed Sheeran flopping into the oblivion makes me believe that truly no one is safe

Everyone who was huge has flop. No one is on top forever and that includes Taylor. Her charts obsessive fans will get a reality check in the near future.

That's too much, even Beyonce/Gaga haven't had that level of flop excluding side projects.

As long as she has some kind of drama or relationship material to write and sing about, it will be a long time. I would be more surprised if the public finally gets tired of her calculated shenanigans.

everyone ages yall need to stop enabling the ageist ways of the industry to dictate someones success and relevance. you can still be the girl next door no matter what age. plenty of said alternatives have been presented to us and not come close to shaking up taylor
