Mr Boots Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 i saw somewhere that her last album sold over 500k in the US. isn't that more than ariana and selena?
Rotunda Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 (edited) I'm conflicted. I was really into Halsey's EP and one of her few ATRLers that doesn't take pleasure in dragging her. The lyrical content of this album is definitely a lot less cringeworthy than Badlands, but the soul and the sound isn't there. Badlands felt like an event and like Halsey had a lot of individuality, that's not really present here. Badlands seemed like a strong album with a couple of very low lows (ironically, New Americana -- her most successful song). This album seems unimpressive, but more mature. I don't know if I should call this growth or regression. Edited June 3, 2017 by Rotunda
NickARTPOP Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 (edited) The first female #1 since Joanne I'm not a huge fan but it's definitely an improvement from Baldlands so good for her Edited June 3, 2017 by NickARTPOP
Witnessed ET Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 Very well deserved. Its one of the best albums released this year

Idk if its more than Ariana or Selena, but it is definitely 500k+ in sales for Badlands. She did almost a 100k pure sales in the first week for that.
TSLGNMA Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 Wait. How has there not been a female number one album in 7 months? I know not many have released but that still seems beyond tragic.

fridayteenage Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 in the last 12 months only gaga barbra and miranda got 100k sales weeks for females, i believe. so it would have been a tough feat for her

I really like this album though

ATRL Moderator Unoriginal Posted June 3, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted June 3, 2017 For everyone surprised by hfk's numbers, BADLANDS opened with 97k and since then Halsey has only grown in popularity so really this makes complete sense
Yves Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 Keep on winning, Ashley. 5 hours ago, KeshasFansRose said: Imagine if she sells more than Katy. Witness* will sell more unfortunately.
Janelle Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 (edited) I tried to give the album a listen, couldn't get past the first 2 songs but congrats. ? Edited June 3, 2017 by Janelle

Isaiah Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Proud of her and in glad she didn't drop from badlands, and she's finally getting ha #1 album I love her and I love the album! lowkey a little underwhelmed by the pure sales though, I was hoping for around 90-100k in pure sales only
mdnazn Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 All the irrational hate ATRL had for this girl a year ago came back as good karma for ha
