official Billboard to count limited fan merch bundles w/ physical albums towards Billboard 200

Billboard will allow "fan packs" to count towards the Billboard 200, starting the chart dated July 15, 2023.

 

- Will only allow two fan pack options per release, for example, a shirt with a CD

- Requires the individual items be sold separately in the same webstore

- Fan packs can only include physical merch—not tickets, M&G's, or anything non-tangible

- Must carry a physical copy of an album

- Digital download/merch combos will not be allowed

- Billboard and Luminate must approve the fan pack before they go on sale

Considering that's how they work with physical sales in general, I presume that's what's gonna happen. In which case I'm not opposed to the rule. It says that the item has to be available separately as well.
