I love Chucky, so that gets my vote. It's silly, thrilling, and fun, and the creator (who is gay) has really queered it up over the years.

I don't really find horror scary so much as thrilling and I don't like too much gore, because it generally feels lazy, and so I prefer the more ridiculous stuff.

They’ve been able to reinvent the Chucky/Child’s Play franchise like four times. The Madonna of horror I fear.

My vote goes to Scream, The Evil Dead and Child's Play

Final Destination is the most consistent for me. Then Scream probably. Can’t remember any other horror franchise that transcended generations so successfully.

Some of the others have some extremely high highs, but also extremely low lows (Evil Dead, Candyman, Hellraiser, Nightmare on Elm Street etc).

Voted Scream and Child's Play even with their lows they're good.

Alien and then Evil Dead.

Lie.

It was Texas Chainsaw massacre that was released first & got its budget back/success that gave them the idea to try with Halloween.

Halloween was way bigger but that doesn’t take away from Texas

that started it all.

That flopped.

The Ring terrified me as a kid, so I guess it's that for me. Final Destination is a fun series though.

Alien. BYE

Alien is my favorite franchise out of these and one of my favorite franchises period (even though they botched a few of the movies...), but more so for the sci-fi elements of it than the horror. That plus I love space and it centers around that.

In terms of franchises I actually associate with horror, it's probably Halloween for me.

Id pick Final Destination and Scream although I like several but now into horror as much anymore

I can't do Evil Dead or Saw they're just a little to gory
