Björk has sold more than Harry Styles, surprised?

I was perusing chartmasters.org and was shocked to discover that 16-time Grammy loser Björk ranks above Harry Styles, and places in the top 150 best selling artists of all time.

The Fagurt Er í Fjörðum chanteuse also tops Cardi B, Gwen Stefani, and many more.

Are you as surprised by this revelation as I was?

lol @ this thread

and no I’m not surprised.  A lot of people think she’s like a flop or whatever but she’s actually famous.  Plus she peaked in the 90s when alternative acts could sell albums easier.

She was mainstream during the 90s, people seem to forget about that. And we stan Björk.

In all seriousness no I am not. He will of course outsell her but Bjork isn’t this unknown indie act that many would have you believe. Yes, she is indie/alt in genre and not a massive chart force, but she actually had pretty good numbers at her peak, and even into the early ‘00s.

I always forget that she was an actual household name back in the ‘90s. :rip:

Björk could do As It Was but that Man couldn’t do Earth Intruders, Pagan Poetry or Pluto. The answer is obvious. No, no one’s surprised.

Are we surprised a 40 something year career outsold an artist who only has 3 albums?

You know, I was going to sign that post off as a resident OBH but thought I wouldn't bring up old wounds again.

Yeah as others have said she was pretty big in the nineties, she has albums that went platinum in the US and she was big in quite a lot of countries too. I think it's interesting that Bjork was arguably bigger in the US than Kate Bush before the RUTH ressurgange.

This really isn't a fix, that you think it is. Bjork has always been popular, she is like Radiohead, Depeche Mode and Massive Attack levels of success, i.e extremely popular.
