State of Grace. Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Yeah Anok Yai really won the night by faaaar. I also really liked Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Cardi, Doja, Gisele Bunchen, and Adut Akech. Rihanna looked great (a given) but wasn't really my favorite from her. Certainly not the best dressed her fans want her to be. Bad Bunny, Conan Gray, Jeremy Pope, and Shai Gilgeous Alexander were my faves from the men. Overall no one really GAGGED me and the theme wasn't helping.

Rev8 Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Thank god I went to bed waiting Rihanna to serve That? lmao first the Superbowl and now..it's honestly shocking (PR will [again] still make it seem like a super success I guess) great that she wasnt just a flower-egg but put the hood down altho she revealed something worse - that Hair the dress (after the hood down) was cute tho, I liked the accessories
Saintlor Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Rihanna's forced PR is becoming like 2013 Beyonce... tired of it constantly being pushed that everything she does is perfect and that she's a God

Comedor Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Anok won. Rihanna was… there. Overall not the best MET.
Zoomer Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Rihanna served a ‘meh’ look two times in a row now. Disappointing. Cardi served. Doja was interesting. Dua needed more in the hair/makeup department. Most of them looked nice but it was missing that wow factor.

Just like the impact her performance has had (and continue to have) across social media. As for the Met Gala she looked iconic this year and nailed the theme down to the accessories and details like she always does. ATRL has always had questionable taste and takes.

I mean her name also made it a success, true I think every fanbase will defend their fav nothing bad about that but the bias is evident to the rest of us, who arent diehard stans of the particular artist (saying this as a fan too)

Forced PR? I don’t think that applies to everything she does, but fashion wise she’s undoubtedly one of the biggest fashion icons of the millennium so it makes sense the hype, especially at this event. Also her outfit (and also quite far into her pregnancy) is objectively one of the best from the sunglasses to the dress if you are familiar with Karl’s art over the years.

mathekr Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Anne Hathaway, Rihanna and Anok Yai were the best of the night for the ladies. But tbh my favorites this year were all men. Diddy, Ben Platt, Bad Bunny, Connan Grey, Brian Tyree Henry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were fantastic.
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Rihanna’s PR isn’t forced at all, she just has exceptionally good taste in fashion Her fans will remember she got flack for various things heavily throughout her earlier career including not having a #1 album until Unapologetic, her ticket sales, her live vocals, etc., whatever the case may be. She’s worked very hard to be as revered as she is nowadays and it was NOT always this way. No matter how the public felt about her music career or general public persona at any specific point and time, her fashion has ALWAYS been a source of highest praise for her even when she wasn’t the celebrity & fashion icon she is now.
LatinFreak Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Rih needs to ditch ASAP at public events, he ruins all the pics.
P.O.P Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 The fact that Rihanna's unborn baby performed at the Oscar's, walked the Met gala and did the superbowl
