Rev8 Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Yea, what is this about awards, sales, grosses etc? This isn't about who is playing the game better and more, this is about who is more of a Legend. I like them both tho so..I guess one is a Legend of success while the other is more of a Legend of influence ?

So, by your metrics, Taylor swift is a bigger legend than people like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and Prince…. Gay pop Stan’s aren’t qualified whatsoever to determine who’s a legend 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Taylor is obviously gonna be the biggest female artist behind Madonna at the end of the day. Beyoncé is more of a Legend now because she has twice the Longevity. there is a difference

FolkLover1989 Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 The so called impace , legendary carrer blah blah Multiple Countries President, In Latam , Asia etc.. are referencing Taylor She is breaking every record possible Tour demand is insane Her tracks are more famous than Beyonce's singles But as per atrl Beyonce is legend lol

Show actual receipts and numbers before you wanna claim this. Sure. In 2014, when Beyoncé was 32/33 years old, she was less successful than Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, in addition to several male acts. Ditto touring-wise, where she was behind Katy and other male acts as well. In 2022, when Taylor herself was 32/33 years old, no one was bigger than her. Not a female artist, not a male artist, not any group. And the success of her current tour is known widely. When Beyoncé was Taylor's age, she was just one of the lesser artists in the game. But Taylor is the game. That's the difference. Edited April 29, 2023 by Feanor

But go to the definition of Legend and it's not "artist with highest sales" although that in itself can be legendary. I don't think Taylor and Bey need to compete in this category, these are subjective things to different demographics. I literally was not exposed to Taylor's music until 1989 and Reputation was kind of a massive decline and Lover never really got started.
byzantium Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Both are legends and the two biggest female artists of the last 25 years. I can see why fans of other girls who can only dream of similar careers want to attack these two.

Many artists over the year had longevity But very few like Madonna and Taylor were able to dominate the landscape Beyonce solo career started like 3-4 years before Taylor's but I don't see Taylor slowing down to Bey level in that same timeframe
XAMJ Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 I would have said Beyonce but this year without a doubt shows its Taylor.

She was number 10 IFPI's global album list of 2023 with just a few weeks sales. But yeah her decided maltreatment of single let her down in overall ranking, but doesn't take the achievements elsewhere Edited April 29, 2023 by Otter

The Music Industry Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Taylor on a global scale, of course. Especially in Asia where most of the world lives
elincomprendid Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Oh someone created the weekly "impact" thread thanks for reminding us how beyhive has no actual stats to justify beyonce's status other than "impact"

Devin Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Not #that Swiftie in here acting up again. Mind u when Taylor reach Bey’s age them streams and sales are gonna wrinkle and dry up like her skin. And the NEXT sad white girl will blossom.

Beyoncé was the lead singer of one of the best selling girl groups of all time on top of her incredible solo career as the biggest black touring act of all time. There’s facts and numbers as well as what one does for the culture, which is where Beyoncé excels.

Taylor already surpassed Beyonce whole career despite having shorter time. She could retire tomorrow and she would still remain bigger. In fact, Bey at 33 was nowhere close to how succesful Taylor currently is.
