The mashup is to show how similar the songs are. A lot of people were comparing WANEGBT to Avril when it first came out. Even Entertainment Weekly did.

avril is by far the bigger name/ icon but i feel like xtina has the more successful music career

Avril have wider reach with her music. She probably edges Xtine by a little. And her touring zones are covering way more countries too, including a stable flow of wide arrays of Asian countries and very extensive Japan dates. Aside from the usual NA & EU dates. Even in her peak, Xtine weren't able to have that kind of demand.

The name “Christina Aguilera” feels more known and iconic but stats wise Avril seems more successful it however doesn’t help that Avril was being billed as an opening act for that rapper whose name I don’t remember. MK something.  An artist of her caliber shouldn’t be doing that because it makes her look less successful and a has been.
