I agree that Xtina is a bigger celebrity but Avril’s sales are much better, especially worldwide

Her actual name recognition is quite solid. Xtina has never had a global solo hit like girlfriend and she has never sold an album globally like let go. But, she had some cute success in the 00's and her vocals were super praised.

The name “Christina Aguilera” feels more known and iconic but stats wise Avril seems more successful it however doesn’t help that Avril was being billed as an opening act for that rapper whose name I don’t remember. MK something. :rip: An artist of her caliber shouldn’t be doing that because it makes her look less successful and a has been.

?

Xtina sold more singles, albums and tickets than Avril Levine. And no amount of poll by Xtina's obsessive hater will change that.

Choose Your Fighter (and stream this perfect song):

Beyonce was the opening act for Xtina vs Avril was the opening act for an unknown rapper :bibliahh:

Xtina sold more singles, albums

studio albums:

Avril - 32,290,000 (5 albums)

Xtina - 30,400,000 (7 albums)

compilations / live albums:

Avril - 1,206,000

Xtina - 4,375,000

singles:

Avril - 49,670,000

Xtina - 82,690,000

singles (own albums):

Avril - 48,940,000

Xtina - 40,560,000

Albums' streaming units:

Avril - 6,763,000

Xtina - 3,741,000

Total album units:

Avril - 48,112,000 (7 albums)

Xtina - 44,577,000 (9 albums)

Avril has better stats in every metric except:

  • compilations (she never released a greatest hits)
  • singles (and 40% of Xtina's sales - 31,900,000 - come from Moves Like Jagger, Feel This Moment and Say Something)

and as the cherry on top, Avril's albums move THREE times as many units per day as Xtina's

Complicated + Sk8er Boi + Girlfriend - 1,446,699,446 (+908,428)

The Avril fan in here is just eating y'all up too much and I'm convinced, so Avril :cm: Especially cos of her recurrent solo streams. Just much more impressive to me honestly.

However, Xtina does feel more like a legend and gets disrespected on here too much for the sake of messy outdated stan wars.

You can't be "more like a legend" when the GP don't listen to your music, which reflects on her recurrent sales and streams. The only stats that her fans can use to back up for this debate is her back up singer career because they know that when it comes to solo, Avril destroyed Christina.

Avril herself influence a stream of major artists including Taylor Swift, Billie, Ed and Olivia. Not even mention that major actress like Jen Law also cite Avril as her teen idol.

In the US, yes, since Avril is Canadian. But not WW. As you can see AVril has much more followers than Christina on social media. I can't think of the stats where Christina actually does better than Avril, asides from 2 singles that she was a back up singles, which her fans keep bragging about because they know Avril destroyed her when we compare their solo careers (as a lead artist, not a backup singer) :rip:

Being a fighter, Avril is the right answer. I mean she showing success that some of her peers could only dream of. A true album artists with hits and relevance, she slapped someone's txts for crying out loud causing nationwide news. Like Love Sux was such a surprise, it took everyone for a spin.

We love Avril and her stans, they are great.

What does influence have to do with the topic though? :skull:

Avril can be influenced by a Christina song and still demolish her sales-wise.

If Xtina feels more like a legend to me, then she's more of a legend to me. Just because Avril is more listened to these days, doesn't take away from Xtina's legacy :katie:

Are stats the only way you measure a legend? That's such a shame.
