Lovett Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 Both Strange World and Lightyear were really cute and did not deserve to bomb. It's a shame. But not everything will smash.
JustHoran Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 Disney can afford bomb after bomb and will be just fine
LustSpell Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 Lightyear tanking that hard is so surprising tbh
June Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 Pretty sure Amsterdam was more of an Margot Robbie movie than Taylor lol Had to google Devotion, weird to see such a unknown movie losing so much money
Dancehall Queen Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 Strange World was sent to die but it’s pretty good.

Johnny Jacobs Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 Not the taylor poster Yall are too much.. Honestly Babylon deserved to smash
Johnny Jacobs Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 17 minutes ago, JustHoran said: Disney can afford bomb after bomb and will be just fine Not for long.. The spiderman money can last for so long and they had more than a handful of flops in the last couple of years.. It's not looking good so far
Stepfon Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 Well, at least Margot will have a better year this year.
SoldierofLove Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 I don’t think I’ve even heard of Strange World before this thread. It looks cute. I might watch it! Lightyear fell off my radar but I’m still planning to watch it at some point.
lmnoc1 Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 It's sad that Disney might change strategy after their LGBT elements making both Strange World and Lightyear receiving such big backlash

bliaz Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 How could I forget all the attacks Lightyear received. I remember turning on the radio one morning (a local rock station) and they were talking about the supposed gay propaganda, what did people think, they all said (through WhatsApp audios) that they did not agree with the "imposition" of lgbt themes on children. I was very disappointed with the people in my city. But I should not have been surprised if I have experienced a lot of homophobia
Donquizote Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Margot dominates Barbie will be another one perhaps
Gorjesspazze9 Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 (edited) It’s pretty bad. But they also had several of the biggest movies of the year thanks to Marvel and Avatar. Disney is fine. They just really need another Pixar hit or better Disney animated originals. Encanto lowkey kinda been carrying them this decade Edited April 15, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
Digitalism Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Babylon was a cringe fest all over Damien doesn't know what to do with his career
elevate Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 I am certain Strange World was dumped with no promo because of a gay lead. The film was cute and would have done well with the typical Disney machine behind it. Hopefully Iger can fix his predecessor's mess.
Billionaire Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Margot better pray Barbie is a certified smash
