daniel literally picks only the weirdest, craziest films that are destined to flop purely bc he knows he can live off of HP money for the rest of his life, i watched guns akimbo the other day and i love that he gets to pick and choose his roles like that and have fun

 

the only one i think has struggled/is struggling is rupert. he’s on that Apple Original show Servant but that’s after years and years of unintentional flopping

She's kinda retired from acting which is sad because Little Women is a fantastic film and she was amazing in it

Thank God they didn’t agree to do a Cursed Child film. That would’ve totally soiled the movie series. Recasting Harry Potter is kind of serving:

- There were talks for a big Cursed Child movie with the original cast

- Emma and Daniel don't want to work with JK Rowling

- Emma's the toughest one to get back

- The studio tried to buy JK Rowling out but she requested an "insane amount"

- Studio wants to keep milking these characters so they're stuck with her

- Solution was to reboot the franchise with the series 

- They're serious about developing it but they're also trying to use it as leverage to get Emma and Daniel back ("if you guys don't come back you're not gonna be Harry Potter anymore, we'll get someone else" so to speak)

- There were pitches for the series to be set in America and in Paris, but JK Rowling shot it down because HP is a British property and should stay true to it

- They will make an effort to have a more diverse cast, particularly for the role of Hermione

- Veteran HP writers are expected to be involved in the series

 

- leave the original cast and this brand alone already

- warner can barely keep their channel and streaming services afloat and now want to damage HP goodluck

- the cast did their time. let them go jfc 

- jk needs to be jailed

- this franchise did not need to rebooted at all, especially not this soon

- of course they're gonna subject the character of hermoine to be diverse. poor girl who gets casted and becomes targeted to racial slurs for a whole decade pending how long they plan on making this. hollywood needs new ideas

rupert wasn't really active though servant is one of his most high profile roles in some time and that show with lindsay lohan

 

i like that daniel went the whole other route with his film choices. it's made his career all the more exciting to watch

It's nice that Dan and Emma are principled over this, however, I'm happy about this delaying an inevitable The Cursed Child film/series adaption for the foreseeable future. It's a horrible, horrible story that serves fanfiction... because it is fanfiction.

 

As for the show, it'll be exhausting seeing them try to stretch the first 3 books into a 8-10 episode season each. Gurl
