I mean, the movie grossed 2.4 billion

So the profits are around 531mln

 

Cameron’s cut was 300mln.  that still leaves more than 1billion left. Just how expensive was this movie to produce and to market. So probably 500mln production cost + 500mln advertising?

Movie studios don’t keep the entirety of the gross, a huge portion goes to theaters. Avatar 2 was one of the most expensive movies ever made.

WW BO 2.31b, revenues 1.26b so 1.05b goes to theaters
