I don’t really care about Kill Bill one way or the other but radio stations do basically act as a cartel tbh, it’s fascinating how they’re allowed to collude and gatekeep with impunity

All U.S. stats are heavily manipulated now. It makes me wish we took a note from South Korea. There you have to use basically your SSN to sign up for a streaming service and then their official charts will weed out fraudulent streams that don’t result in profits for the artists.

I’m totally disillusioned by the Hot 100 now and it feels like we’re back in 2001-2003 where the chart was just fake as hell :skull:

It was more like 1995-1998 where the chart was 'fake' because Billboard refused to include airplay only songs on the chart. Torn and Iris would have easily been #1 on the Hot 100. I haven't taken the charts seriously since Billboard removed UGC in early 2020, and I won't do so until sales are removed from the Hot 100.

I don't think I understand. It looks like Miley was also negatively impacted? Would Kill Bill be #1 without this change? Cause it seems like Miley would still be #1, based on how this information is presented....

SZA's competition this week is Morgan not Miley and his airplay barely decreased because Country radio wasn't impacted by this radio change

3. SZA - "Kill Bill" 98.65 (-7.66)

Morgan Wallen - "Last Night" 31.62 (-1.08)

Dont think it's sabotage to try to make the numbers more accurate :celestial5:

The timing is a bit unfortunate, yes.

Hopefully Kill Bill still gets it

i hope she still bags that #1 cuz it's more than deserved :emofish:

over 40% of his airplay comes from pop though. compared to sza's ~55%. hardly sabotage

Well, during the Future Nostalgia era we basically got used to this kind of arbitrary changes :rip:

They way they weighted down radio numbers when Break My Heart was about to reach top 10, just when radio was its strongest format. Then, when they weighted radio UP, just when Levitating was about to reach a new peak, and just when radio was its weakest format :deadbanana2:

And for a third time when Levitating was about to reach #1, they changed the way they weighted radio numbers AGAIN and it gave Leave The Door Open a pretty suspicious advantage. People always call it on the quick narrative of 'BB taking out 'fake' sales and taking the #1 away from Dua', but even without the 'fake' sales, she had enough points to reach #1. It was the change in radio weighting what made her #2 that week. Winston, TOTC and chartdata were quick to call it out, but ODHs were just too happy circlejerking to even get their facts right

And of course I'm not directly saying 'BB and radio charts are against Dua', but the way they can change radio weighting just because they want to, even with no actual reason to do it, and affecting chart runs for too many songs, it just goes to put their credibility on the pits :gaycat6:

Well if they had done this change during Anti-hero's last week at #1 SZA would have been easily #1 that week  :coffee2:

I hate how this "changes" are made only when a female is involved.
