Anitta part ways with Warner

ANITTA A FREE AGENT?

Rumor has it that Anitta is out of her record deal and now a free agent.

The Brazilian global superstar, who’s managed by S10 chief Brandon Silverstein and repped for legal by Ed Shapiro, was recently nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy, lit up the VMAs, AMAs and EMAs (where she won Best Latin), delivered a historic 2022 performance on Coachella’s main stage and became the first Latin female solo artist to have a global #1 song on Spotify, courtesy of “Envolver.”

The artist is now expanding her pop-cultural reach with a starring role on the seventh season of the Spanish Netflix series Elite.

Where will Anitta land? Are two majors edging into the lead? Are Brandon and Ed annoyed by our questions? Don’t touch that dial.

Well she got what she wanted, so congrats.

Now let's see if Warner was really the problem.

I love her and I am no gonna be the person that is gonna defend the label/corporation but she was acting like Warner was doing nothing. She was in every award show (if that is not the label but the management, werk!) and also she had sessions with top producers, she got a Grammy nom (which is campaigned by the label) and she got good playlist support so....

This is after saying last month that it was impossible for her to leave the label lol

Anitta's management told CNN Brasil that the singer is not changing to the Roc Nation label. https://www.cnnbrasil.com.br/entretenimento/assessoria-de-anitta-nega-contratacao-por-gravadora-de-jay-z-entenda-o-caso/

Edit: Anitta has just confirmed via Instagram Stories that her contract with Warner Records has ended.

The label was not having her public disrespect. Good for them.

curious to see what will be her fanbases excuse for when she flops now

Good! They were making her release songs that she didn’t want to and didn’t click with the GP either, the one song she fought for and Warner didn’t want to push ended up being her biggest global hit so far, she knows what’s up.

They had a good run but they clearly didn’t know how to market her internationally.

They were a great label to her and she should have been grateful. Good luck to her!

She wrote on Twitter that the label didn't want her on the VMAs... she asked for one of her publicity deals to sponsor it

It's the ranting online that made it possible for her to leave... It's not the first time she's done it. She's quite known to the lawfare tactics. She didn't walk away from the deal because she wouldn't have the money to afford contract penalties AND litigation fees. So, she tried to bully Warner online and somehow cause some bad word of mouth around them. Since Warner doesn't need this neither her, they probably negotiated both of their freedoms.

She made her fans bully her last manager after she left her big industry deal in Brazil, hoping she would walk away scotch free. Her manager hit back in a lawsuit and made her pay the contract's penalties penny by penny lmao

She better give up on the US and restart the actual bops (not the 10th rehash of festival music with random men)

She’s just not for the anglophone market so they should focus on LatAm, Spain and Portugal since it’s the market she’s more oriented for instead of wasting money on the US since she’s not a very household name yet on here. Like in Chile we only know Downtown, Paradinha and Envolver. The other songs were N/A on every metric and I assume it’s the same outside of other LatAm countries

y'all need to understand that not every promo an artist gets is because of their label.

yeah she got a lot of promo slots last year but it could've been her management which is not tied to Warner. plus I think she was more frustrated about other stuff (single releases/mvs/album direction/creative control) than about promo.

what's so funny about what i said? :skull: they did push her but forced her to do songs they thought were going to be her breakthrough and clearly didn't work, until envolver came in, warner didn't want that song to be a single, she even had to pay for the video herself bc they didn't believe the song would do anything, nothing that i said is untrue, they didn't know how to market her and the results are proof of that.

those warner 13 dollars budget better go to ava now

She's supposedly collabing with H.E.R so she's going to try again

since she's spoken that she had to pay and ask Shein to fund her own AMA performance the night she won an award I knew her contract was the pits. good luck to her. looks like they're going to be in partnership from now (maybe they held her sign in for distribution or who knows).
