NoAngelus Posted November 14 Posted November 14 I will never understand this decision. What a waste of time and money. Movies are still very popular and stood test of time, no one will ever give this a chance and we honestly don't need this. I'm honestly mad. 4 2 1
Starfish Posted November 14 Posted November 14 The discourse will be fun when inevitably 2 or 3 of the main kids are played by people of color .

Harry Potter sets are still in the top 5 most popular LEGO sets every year. They did all the main sets between 2018-2023 twice and this year started another re-launch of the castle sets. 1

Phaunzie Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Expect a chorus of Not my Ariel like sentiments and OH MY GOD where is the historical accuracy from white women on social media and literal nazi youtubers like the Quartering. I have to stay I will be shocked if it gets a remotely mid amount of backlash. These girls are too predictable.

I have yet to start Halfblood Prince, but so far I found books having too much unnecessary things. Only thing missing in the movies is the Marauders chapter from TPOA.

Only thing missing in the movies is the Marauders chapter from TPOA. i think prisoner of azkaban and order of the phoenix did a great job of adapting the books. the prisoner movie has like 90% of the content from the book, and as much as the order movie is a very watered down version of the book all the relevant stuff is still there. of course they cut out A LOT from the order movie, and that being my favorite book i'd love to see things like the rita skeeter interview, the astronomy test where the death eathers fight against hagrid and mcgonagall, and of course more of the battle of the ministry. but overall the adaption did its job. goblet of fire and half blood prince on the other hand are atrocious adaptions. A LOT of stuff was cut out. most of the things ignored in the goblet movie are subplots but those plots are heavily linked to the main plot and without them a lot of things don't make sense. and half blood prince... not only they cut out most of the important stuff but they did it in favor of turning the movie into a teenager romcom. awful choices all around.

I'm actually excited to start HBP because I love movie and whole dark vibe but yeah romance kind of ruins the momentum every time but I heard book is not like that, and it seems to me like it's fan favorite

In my opinion that should've been the easiest book to adapt, but they butchered the whole thing trying to make it a teen comedy. But the book is great.

I don't think they'll do the Weasly Family since its such an important/notorious trait Harry could be tan too, i've seen lots of fan arts with him looking ambiguosly tan rather than pale, I haven't read the books, but it seems like those artworks are based on book Harry. I just need to know who will be playing my man AKA Draco
NoAngelus Posted November 15 Posted November 15 I wonder who's gonna be the first one to hook up with Dumbledore in the series

The book has so much that was cut from the movie that should have been included. 1

I took few months off after finishing Order because it was too long and I wanted to read something new.

I'm also massive fan of GG and I read the book after the movie and even then it kept me interested. I didn't like Sharp Object show at the time, it was too slow for me but I want to read the book. Just make sure to skip Dark Places adaptation, it had A list cast but it went unnoticed and was panned, but HBO announced they are making limited show out of it... 1
