Honestly, this could either end up being huge or a cancelled midway flop (like Fantastic Beasts)

So is this being produced by HBO? Or someone else from the MAX brand? I'm so confused

Two things I'm excited about:

  • I want a Dumbledore like the first two movies. The way he is in the books. Not that awful version Gambon gave us (totally ruined the character IMO).
  • Coherence in style.
  • More Hogwarts school stuff (like in Hogwarts Legacy), that's what made the success of the books IMO, more than the Vilain-Of-The-Book.
  • Having a younger McGonagall. Love Maggie Smith but always felt they cast too old on movie 1.
  • Goblet of Fire will be epic. The worts movie and the best book.

I agree with everything you said except the dumbledore part. The original dumbledore was dreadful. He was nothing at all like the books version imo. Dumbledore in the books is old yes, but he had a youthful spirit about him. The original movie version of him just came across as a old tired man with not an ounce of energy left in him.  Gambon made some mistakes mostly in goblet of fire but overall he portrayed dumbledore far better.

They're gonna race bend a big character (probably Hermione) and we're gonna have ANOTHER big cultural endless war. I'm so tired.

That’s exactly what’s going to happen.

I'm already picturing those super annoying alt-right youtubers with their big dumbass thumbnails. But I guess it's gonna be a difficult subject for them since JK is literally their friend now.

Olivia Colman coming for an Emmy as Umbridge in 2030. :jonny5:

Good luck booking Olivia Colman since J.K is still involved, lol. Or any other respected actor.

The cast of the movie series was amazing, this series is going to probably be mostly no-name actors. :deadbanana:

I don't really like the movies so I'm excited for this.

Let me read the books again :jonny5:

Hope it flops

This is so unnecessary, like we already have 8 movies with great casting that people still love. And the fact that JK Rowling is an executive producer :biblio: It's so annoying seeing yet another remake when there are so many amazing book series that deserve a live action treatment whose authors aren't complete trash.

I see what you are saying and I do agree that Harris was a little down maybe but Gambon's version completely removed the calm of intelligence and knowledge, tinged with a slight sense of superiority that the character is supposed to be.

As for the main cast, let's not fool ourselves. None of the kid actors were good actors when we reached movie 3. I think most people are attached because physically they looked more or less like the books and they were very likeable, but neither Radcliffe, Grint or Watson were good actors in the long run (and their career or the few movies they did is proof). It's not impossible to find good kid actors that would turn out to be good as teen. Maybe they should cast a bit older (like 13 instead of 11) and then shoot back to back season 1 and 2 to be sure the growth is not too sudden.

There are plenty of actors looking for work who will be clamouring for a role on this show.
