Mezter Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Ari about to get blocked on the Billboard 200 and at the box office. A nightmare, literally a nightmare
Jessie Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) Reminds me of how Toy Story 2 was also supposed to be direct to video once upon a time when Disney first green-lit it before it went theatrical and became a Thanksgiving smash. They definitely made the best decision financially to repackage the show after their 100th slate bombed with critics and audiences and seeing the numbers the original Moana is doing for them on Disney+. But I just know Universal are seething; a 3 minute trailer at CinemaCon last year hyping exhibitors that this was going to be thee hit of 2024 just for Disney to surprise announce this guaranteed family audience stealer alongside them (although exhibitors themselves are probably giddy with the news they have two big, four quadrant movies launching on Thanksgiving after such a dry as **** start to the year). A nightmare, literally a nightmare well frozen 2's soundtrack underperformed vs. frozen 1. and moana's soundtrack got blocked. feels like atp the only disney animated hit that they'll leave alone is pocahontas because it would be almost impossible to do without getting a bunch of people mad.
FlyOnTheWall Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Oh they're scrambling, not a single original movie announced for the next three (3!) ******* years
