FallenFroot Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 "Eat The Acid" is already my second favorite song by Kesha only behind "Praying". The final minute kicks differently; the production is top-notch.
Gavin. Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 ETA - Wow was not expecting that from the previews. Was expecting a slower chill sign but the snippet made me think it’d be boring af. So “weird” but so so interesting and different for her. Obviously not one to sing along and have on constant repeat but I felt what she was trying to convey and love it FL - Another misleading snippet, at least for me. Love the honest raw lyrics. Not as interesting as ETA for me tho. The production is really cool though. very very interested to get the whole vibe of the album and while I’m not normally one who listens to albums in order, I kinda hope this one tells a story with its track listing.
Georges Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Eat the Acid is like, her first great song since Praying. So amped for the rest of this album.
AvadaKedavra Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 This is her Folklore. Deep songs with a tone of melancholia. Rainbow was more like..........I "rise above darkness" with empowerment and nostalgia and this one is "i embrace all the pain and sufferin" as a catharsis and probably will finish in a good vibe with the last song. To be honest im someone in love with dance pop but those days when im sad or are a little depressin or i feel vulnerable i need songs like this This will be her second magnum opus
EDD Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I LOVE Fine Line. Its lyrical content is so strong and I love how uncomfortable I feel with its melody and her singing. Eat the acid needs to grow on me, but I liked it. I just felt angry because it ends just when you feel it's going to explode
Alfred Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Oh ok I actually like Eat the Acid. The production/vocal production is great. I like the variation in tone and pacing of the song
Gold Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 eat the acid is a grower! fine line is not clicked with me
scenekiller Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Both of these are great, but Fine Line really hits hard. The production is like this perfect blend of sad, angry, eerie, and a bit of hopeful too? It really is walking a "fine line"
SinnerCity Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Fine Line has great lyrics but it's very uneventful, I kept waiting for the beat drop or at least a change in key that would take me, you know, somewhere so it's ok. Eat the Acid is a trip, definitely gets better with each listen and I love how it seems to be setting up the next track at the end.
robattack332 Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Eat The Acid is GOOD. However. I usually like when artists subvert expectations and don't take the song where you think it's gonna go, but the hook on this is too good to not have that strong release. Still really great song.

Jesse Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I'm really excited for this album now. I like what she's doing with Fine Line but it hasn't grown on me yet to the point of putting it on my playlists. Eat The Acid on the other hand I think is brilliant. It sounds great in the car. I love the production in the last minute. I don't need an album of bangers, but I hope that kind of production is sprinkled through the rest of the album.
collin Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Eat The Acid is immediately one of her best songs. I am so thrilled at these tracks. This is the perfect direction.

I don’t really get why Fine Line was released as a lead, it feels like it needs to be digested with the album.
P!nk Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 The lyrics really stand out with both songs. Definitely both growers. Wasn’t instant love on first listen but I can really appreciate the songs for what they are.
Luckitty Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 she clearly isn't aiming for a smash hit so I don't understand why some people think these are "bad single choices".. pop radio wasn't gonna play her music either way
SupremeGoddess Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 these are easily among her best songs ever. they’re absolutely amazing genius! the growth and maturity they’ve exhibited while still being kesha at heart she’s coming for AOTY ladies

cockatoo Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Fine Line is another one of these Julia Michaels'd type talk singing songs. That woman has so much to answer for Eat the acid is ok, but pretty uneventful overall
Into The Void Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 As a fan of most of Keshas music I just don't like either
