Kesha - "Fine Line" / "Eat the Acid"

Eat The Acid had me frozen at first listen. As a day one fan I can't believe the artist that she's transformed into, it's surreal to witness.

I do wish it had a little bit of oomph throughout the song and not just at the end but I loved it.

Fine Line is beautiful

It's clear she is not even close to the artist she was once and doesn't care about hits. Art not the charts baybeee

Fine Line's production is different but kinda distracting. I think I need more time. Let's move on to Acid.

Those two tracks are already better than anything on her 2 last albums

You’re not gonna tell me that these are better than

Bastards

Let Em Talk

Woman

Praying

LTLG

Finding You

Boots

Spaceship

As much as these 2 have grown on me and are easily better than anything on HR, Rainbow is still and will always be that girl :cm:

I was listening to these two together and when the single run "ended" the autoplay gave me No Excuses by Meghan as the follow up and wow, the sudden mood/atmosphere change gave me whiplash  :ahh:

I think what people aren’t getting is that Kesha clearly isn’t going for mindless fun pop candy this time around. She’s going for something more deep that is intended to make you think, not bop. If you want bops then this won’t be your thing. The sooner you recognize and accept that the better, cuz all this whining about how bad the songs are when in reality it’s just not your thing is extremely tiring :gaycat6:

Eat The Acid is amazing, her best song in a while. Fine Line is also good

Eat the Acid is cute, it definitely has potential.

Fine Line on the other hand… I don't like it :deadbanana2:

Both songs don't sound like single material at all either, they're not catchy and are most likely gonna bomb

I mean, I personally find the “you don’t wanna be changed like it changed me” refrain to be catchy. Also “you said don’t ever eat the acid”.

Fine Line definitely isn’t catchy, but that’s because it’s supposed to be an ethereal ballad that you just vibe to :cm:

I will say tho that I agree she shouldn’t have dropped any songs before the album. This definitely seems like it’s gonna be one of those albums that’s best listened to all at once, with no tracks in particular standing out. Her BEYONCÉ/IICHL, IWP moment is here :jonnycat:

Praying wasn't catchy either but it was a genuinely fantastic song, unfortunately that's not the case for these two. I hope there are better songs on the album :deadbanana2:

It's odd to me how she delivered her best album with Rainbow then released her worst (High Road) and now releases these two songs :deadbanana2: Anyway I'm glad this is her final album with Kemosabe and that she'll finally be free.

To you, maybe.

Is she going the If I Cant Have Love, I Want Power type a album?

Neither of these songs are single material. Eat The Acid would be a fantastic album opener though.

I don't get these kind of complaints because the whole point of a double lead single is to promote the album as a whole and the album literally comes out in 3 weeks, so obviously the point is not that these particular songs become hits or anything :rip:.

her best material ever. glad shes branching out from pure pop. she was collaborating with the flaming lips because she was a pychedelic person and shes proving it now. alone cant relate

I mean, some people who’ve heard it have described it as her “rage” album so I’d say so :cm:

obsessed with these songs :WAP: I know the album will be MY ****! Fine Line is just like incredible. Showed the song to my friend and loved it so I know a lot of new listeners will attract to her because of this change of style :clap3:

Hopefully some of you find taste, because these songs are excellent and I’m prepared for Gag Order to be one of the standout albums of the year. Undoubtedly.

I'm not complaining, I'm just stating how I see the songs. I'm happy she gave us these tracks, but I see them as "album teasers" and not "singles"

A "single" should be able to stand alone. I personally believe Eat The Acid would be a great album opener, as I stated. I just don't think the track stands well on its own.

Praying still had a typical song structure and a proper hook with complex Melodie’s, that while may not seem as immediately catchy as your typical bubble gum pop song was still catchy enough to make people enjoy the song

The users in here still expecting just “bops” from her :deadbanana: or even from this album, after these two songs? :deadvision:

Go listen to Ava Max or Dr L***’s pet if it’s disposable pop what you wanna hear

The way it doesn’t have a banner when a certain song last week had it. Disgusted :rip:
