Ivan_brit Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I appreciate when they take risk & go experimental But I did not like this songs Fine Line could grow on me for sure but after 1st listenings I did not like any song.... is not tragic either I simply did not conect to this songs
Archetype Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 These are not it. I appreciate the writing, but it sounds like they tried to create a Thom Yorke / Radiohead sound and failed. Also doesn't help that her vocal delivery on both songs is mostly flat and uninspiring.
JayG Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 (edited) Powerful as **** BUT not what I wanted from her at all… she has bangers like Woman and goes this route… hmmm… I get it she’s in her deep philosophical bag but, I don’t NEED that from her… I appreciate it though… I still stream her first two albums everyday cause masterpieces but… yeah, I’ll keep an eye out cause she’s still mother Edited April 28, 2023 by JayG

yourcloud Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Most of you are tripping cause these two are fantastic songs. Fine Line is just devastating and Eat The Line's build up is low key one of her best moments. It is very The Flaming Lips and i stan. Perched for more.
Bimbo Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 These are very... surface level. Appreciate the effort to produce something deep though.

WHO is she appeasing to then? Every person on this site is a music fan Edited April 28, 2023 by JayG
thatsmydemi Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 The two tracks are amazing. I've never been fully interested in her last two albums (I liked Rainbow but never listened more than 2 songs from High Road). She got me with these two. I wish my fave had released Fine Line. She'd resonate with that song so much.

Kern Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Those two tracks are already better than anything on her 2 last albums, if you need generic basic boring pop songs don't listen to ETA/FL.
campelo Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I wish they didn't sound unfinished, during lockdown it would make sense this DIY bedroom sound, but now...
Blankspace2010 Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I’m not even a Kesha fan and Eat The Acid is amazing. Honestly, it’s not a top 40 pop track but it’s art.

Sis - it’s done purposely to demonstrate the emotion and desperation of her situation. It’s part of the art of the tracks. Some of you are obtuse
Doogle Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 It’s trying to be art but it’s not quite there. I agree it’s surface level. I think there’s potential there it’s just missing something (not in the production, but the execution) Curious to see what the album will be
fountain Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 This is brave, artistic, career defining material and it really speaks to the taste level of the listener if you fail to comprehend that
Hobbes Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 These have me way more excited for Gag Order than Raising Hell did for High Road. But they’re also not as immediate or intriguing as Praying was but that’s okay. Eat The Acid is clicking more with me so far but I’ll be listening to them both to really digest them. I’m glad she’s doing something interesting this time around.
pavi Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Hmmm, gonna have to sit with these.. I love the lyrics and I really like the 'rough' production, but I just wish the songs progressed a bit more sonically. Fine Line especially feels very flat. Eat The Acid really feels like it's building, but it never resolves the tension. I really hope the track that comes after it does that Feel like ETA will really grow on me and Fine Line is gonna have to sound great within the context of the album to really grow on me
