Why don’t you mix it then?

It sounds unpleasant, we need actual professionals to be involved in this before it gets released

It is.. it’s been years. Nobody cares. We want music. Write a book Kesha.

Sis… there’s plenty of other pop girls making those dated generic recycled dance bops you so desperately crave. If the musics not for you you’re welcome to express that but don’t demand something from artist who is for the first time in her career releasing exactly what she wants to.

I heard Kim Petty could use some streams so why don’t you go and support her.

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone is going to convince others who have already made their minds up. I respect that these two songs and the album will most likely appeal to specific fans and not everyone. It's okay for people to want something else from Kesha, and it's okay to enjoy these tracks at the same time.

Personally, I'm fulfilled. I think this is going to be her most artistic effort yet and I am HERE for it. But I can understand those who miss the old material as well. One of the most wonderful things about Kesha is her versatility. I have no doubt she'll continue writing in multiple genres for as long as she makes music. If Gag Order doesn't please everyone, maybe something else will in the future. However, for right now, I'm just excited to relish in her fully realized vision :jamming:

Not aimed towards Kesha or anybody in this thread specifically, but this discourse of "if you don't like x, you're vapid and only like dance!!!11" is so dumb. Have we not culturally grown past the notion that slow and experimental doesn't necessarily translate to objectively good? You can have all the intention in the world to do something artistic and serious but if it doesn't click with people, it doesn't. I thought a music forum would have much more of a nuanced perception of music.

I mean to be fair it’s mostly been directed to users who have specifically mentioned they miss dance-pop 2010 Ke$ha

I too think that the dance sound was her peak but I'm also a fan of Tori Amos, Weyes Blood, Damien Rice, Sufjan Stevens, Father John Misty. etc. who are known for their slow singer-songwriter sound so all of this seems silly to me. It's not about needing everyone to do the exact same thing, it's about not liking the execution or artistic direction an artist goes for.  In my instance, at least.

I don’t get why everyone hates the mixing on her recent stuff. Do y’all want really prefer the brick wall of sound from her first two albums?

Spoiler

Or maybe being Lana stan has gotten me accustomed to weird mixes…

Once this acclaimed era is over and she's signed with a new indie record label. I hope were able to get a full folk album....punk rock??? electropop one.

Dont lose your hope.
Once she's free yll can message Pebe Sebert and her family and suggest her a full dance pop or 80s inspired album in the future.
So many roads she can take. We just need Dr Puke to leave her alone.
This is the album she needed in the moment. There's a bright future ahead of Kesha. This is just the begginin.

Hope she pulls a Charli XCX-Carly Rae and becomes a huge name in the underground pop sphere-alt scene.

At the end almost all her peers from 2010s are also failing in the charts or retired.
So if people want her to smash again thats not an easy task even for singers with better chances-bigger label backup-hitmakers

Only an exclusive batch of female artists are able to sustain themselves today Taylor-Shakira-Beyonce-Gaga-Miley-Ariana-The Newcomers..........

At the end Kesha left her mark in the Pop panorama. She's an icon from the 2010s.
From the Electropop era. That era shaped the sound of music today.
She doesnt need radio-streaming hits anymore :gaycat4: She's a Legacy act
To be fair her career was also horribly derailed by the Dr Luke abuse.
Just look how after warrior she was still smashing with songs like Timber and her Trix Yogurt hair....There was so much potential but in crisis she was unable to rise again.

70s. Donna Summer-Cher-Olivia Newton........
80s. Madonna-Cindy Lauper-Bonnie Tyler-Whitney-Tina-Annie Lenox-Enya.....
90s. Mariah-Celine-Janet-Alanis...
2000s. Britney-Xtina-Beyonce-Shakira-Avril-Jlo-Pink-Kelly...
2010s. Gaga-Katy-Taylor-Rihanna-Kesha-Lana-Adele-Ariana-Miley......
2020s. Billie-Olivia-Dua-Doja.......

Did not care for Fine Line. Probably won't listen to that again. Eat The Acid is actually interesting though and sonically a cool direction for Kesha :jamming:

That’s because that was when Kesha was good

The mixing comments are a joke, Dr. Luke’s songs sound like they’re put through a $12 cotton candy machine.

Loved Rainbow.. skipped the album after.. these are not what I expected.

Love the lyrics but can’t make my mind up on the production/vocal delivery. Eat the Acid is definitely more instant though.

How are they doing on streaming?

ETA was recorded on an iPhone, which is the point of the song..

Also, the mixing is literally great. It is just a warmer sound compared to her brighter/shinier sounding music from 2010.... Which is the case with all pop music nowadays

Yeah, knowing her, her next album could either be heavy metal, country, or house.. have no clue

I don’t really get why Fine Line was released as a lead, it feels like it needs to be digested with the album.

The way I see it Eat The Acid is the lead and Fine Line is like the B-Side (I do like it) but I think she wanted Fine Line to get some attention because of what she’s saying with the song.

It's 77 on AOTY and some of the comments are expecting the songs to hit a little bit more once they listen to the full album :clap3:

Does anyone else believe her singing "truth keeps roaring like a lion" in Fine Line followed by the soft background vocals is an allusion to many people choosing to believe Luke over her?

Her mind :jonny:
