Bad Habits flopped at first then they forced into a huge radio-carried hit in the end

Bad Habits didn't flop

Bad Habits:

Global Spotify: #7 (=)

US Spotify: #12  (+4)

UK: #2 (=)

Staying at #7 is very different than falling to #32  :rip:

Okay, so maybe not all of them. Fact still remains that Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, two women this website stans for, have flopped harder with their latest releases. Meghan Trainor also couldn’t go top ten with her cute little TikTok single and her follow up to that has performed abysmally. Miley’s album was also a flop and debuted only one song in the top 40 (which was just barely) and couldn’t even make the top 2 on the BB200.

Taylor is and has always been an exception with unprecedented success, but the fact remains that Anti-Hero isn’t going to last forever and she doesn’t have a successful follow up waiting in the wings. Ed’s debuts are never indicative of his overall performance, which is a trait that Dua Lipa has shared honestly: Sweetest Pie was her highest debut at the time of its release iirc, and it went on to be one of the biggest flops she’s had since becoming an established artist.

Ed is way more established than Dua, he should be able to debut in the global Top 10  at a minimum with a new single.

Hold My Hand is a soundtrack single which usually flop (see the difference between Spirit and Break My Soul as an example)

The rest is true but doesn’t change the fact that this is a huge flop (so far) for Ed and even if it becomes a hit, proves that he lacks a big fanbase and requires radio to have a hit.

Not every radio carried hit can feature in IFPI’s Top 10 biggest global singles list in two separate years :clap3:

Hmm. Just listened to it. With Bad Habit I could immediately hear the catchiness and the hit potential despite most of you celebrating it "flopping", but with this I'm not sure. It's not awful, but it didn't really hit any spots at all. Might end up being a medium hit with a push. Can't see it having BH's success.

Day three:

US: #46 (-8), 483,892 streams (-109,173)

This is cute for his standards. :gaycat4:

His new single is really generic. Makes sense

More like carried Ed into the pit of floppage with her like she did to all of her collaborators.

Op: Ed's hits are growers. Time will tell.
