Unpopular opinion - I honestly don’t like this album much at all and despite being super messy and disjointed I’d rather listen to MDNA (Girl Gone Wild, Love Spent, Masterpiece, and Falling Free are all songs I enjoy listening to-  but don’t get me wrong, MDNA is also pretty bad)

Her first lead single to flop. It was such a bad song though. The whole album was terrible. To think she release ray of light five years prior, her best. Well she came back with confessions, so it wasn’t a total loss. Everyone talked about Mariah’s comeback but we can’t forget madonnas either that year.

Today is 20 years since the release of the American Life album... that sounds strange to write out. A remix album just dropped on streaming.

 

Madonna's backlash era, a divisive album that has improved with age. It gave us two of her best tracks of the 2000s.
