I just don't want to get my hopes up cause aside from Madame X, her 2010s output hasnt been that great Not always, Babyface was the main producer in the first half of the 90s and they did Take A Bow..
PoisonPill Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Max's top tier material is amazing and guaranteed hits, but I worry he'll give Madge his leftovers...
teresaguidice Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 it seems to me that modern max martin is effective in projects with clear guardrails from a specific vision/POV (like his work with the weeknd) but his random one offs are really flat. i smell a "if jesus was a rockstar" incoming. i could very much imagine madonna releasing that exact song with those exact lyrics actually.
PaloSanto Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 strangely optimistic despite everything telling me not to be

Saint James Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 i don’t think this is a good idea max is a rule maker, madonna is a rule breaker neither of them are inspired anymore
allforyou Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 So here for this I can't believe they have never collaborated before.
GlamSlam Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 8 hours ago, PoisonPill said: Max's top tier material is amazing and guaranteed hits, but I worry he'll give Madge his leftovers... Doubt it. Madonna has an ear for a great hook, so she won't be accepting any old crap. Besides, she'll be right there beside him putting her magic on it, so she'll make sure it's a great song. I'm rather optimistic about this collaboration, tbh.
reymiu Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Max Martin originally was from a rock band... Maybe she's trying rock-influenced pop like Burning Up ???
Solgayleo Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Max (discussed in interviews he has done) understands and has an interest in pop culture, so I think he is going to take a collaboration with one of the biggest pop icons ever very seriously. i agree with what someone else has said. When Max has clear parameters/concepts to work within for an artist with a strong, pop-centric vision, he does his best work. The Weeknd, Taylor, and Ariana (on Sweetener and TUN) all show this. Madonna always has a vision, and Max will streamline it into something that’s (hopefully) actually enjoyable to listen to this time.

IBeMe Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Here for it but I feel like Max thrives when he is working with someone who isn’t too involved. Madge tends to be a control freak with her music and she’ll prob ruin it somehow.

Nile Rogers, Pat Leonard, William Orbit and Stuart Price will tell you that.
