theflying Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Omg that’s wild — they shrouded her vocal moment at the end of All of the Girls. That was the part of the song I was most excited about. My sense is that Taylor doesn’t like her vocals on it and didn’t want to do it again, so they just lowered the volume and put it in the background. If they had let it shine like in the demo version, it would’ve been one of the highs of the Lover album. I prefer the demo. The unpolished echos make it more haunting, which kind of fits a song about past romances leaving their mark.

SleepingTigers Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 First time listening to the full song. It’s good but I can see why she left it off lover. I don’t think it needed to replace any songs except maybe The Man but it wouldn’t flow nicely anywhere.

Wonder if they have anything else in the vault.
Miles. Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 It's okay. Obviously better than half of Loser, but it still sounds like a Loser track, which... And idk what high note y'all are talking about, I didn't hear it. Need >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
ATRL Moderator MissedTheTrain Posted March 17, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted March 17, 2023 I really don't understand how this didn't make the album, it's so much better than a big handful of songs on there
ang Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 i would've preferred need to be released but i do love this
Sadie Saxton Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 The way this clears most of the album . It will be on repeat
Vespertine Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 She really was not capable of writing good music during the Lover era, was She?

Wonder if they have anything else in the vault. I think in an interview he did say they worked on two songs and there’s a version of WTNY that was scrapped. I would assume with 21 on his belt, Ryan is a very expensive producer.

Vespertine Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I’m just grateful Lover wasn’t a Big Machine album. Imagine if we had to endure a re-recording era and even more scrapped songs.
