Miss Naomi did what she needed to do, no notes!

But I have questions…

How did the opening kill guy transfer the entity to Louis if he never smiled at him and he was killed by the truck? Shouldn't that have ended the cycle?

Also, the twist while well executed I don't like that we don't know what was real and what wasn't. I like that the audience is along for the ride with Skye and we also don't know what's real or not, but also I want to know what happened to her during the whole plot? Was Morris even real? If it happened after the dance scene in her room, she texted Gemma before that so I'm unsure. Can someone speak on it?

Spoiler

In the first movie it's said that you have to kill someone else in front of a witness to pass the curse. He planned to kill the dealer he held at gunpoint and make the other one watch to give him the curse, but unexpectedly both of them are killed. Lewis hiding in the back sees all this so he's the only witness alive. If Lewis hadn't been there the curse would have remained with the cop.

The excitement in this thread convinced me to get tix to see this on Tuesday night with a Dom Top Zaddy rocking 7.5", so I will let y'all know how it goes! I loved the first one, and that's how I discovered that Kevin Bacon 1) has a daughter and 2) that she's a good actress in her own right, so I'm looking forward to being shook in the theatre during this one.

naomi scott was incredible :heart2:

Spoiler

my only gripe with this movie is how it's just a waiting game until the inevitable. the first movie was a gut punch because you could root for the main character and you could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

skye is doomed from the beginning, so anything that happens between lewis' death and opening night feels like filler ;/

Louis saw him kill the drug dealers so that transferred it to him. In the first movie they said this rule, I completely forgot about it as well loll

OMG I'm actually blown away by this. It was SO GOOD. I can't believe it topped the first one but it did and left it behind in the dust. My wig was being tugged the entire movie it is genuinely terrifying and wow Naomi Scott was acting DOWN. What an incredible performance

I did not realize until looking up everyone on IMDB that the main actress for this was Princess Jasmine. Great acting and transformation!

Funny how two thriller/horror movies centre around a female pop star (this and Trap) released within a few months of each other this year.

I also would like to know which scenes were real and not. I was confused about the final few scenes.

Finally got a chance to see it. Brutal, plenty of well-earned scares, very tense, surprisingly gory, beautiful cinematography, bops and an incredible performance by Naomi Scott.

It's a shame that horror movies usually get ignored by award shows because she really deserves award recognition for this. Sosie Bacon was also fantastic in the first Smile so it's great to see a sequel maintain the same quality as the original in all aspects.

Did not like the ending. Felt super CG. Endings of horror movies lately just aren't sticking the landing.

Naomi Scott was incredible though.

This was actually good.

I just came back from the movie theater and I'm so blown away by Naomi Scott's acting. Like seriously, give this woman an Oscar. She is amazing!

Now, in terms of the movie itself, I thought it was really good. Most of the scares didn't feel cheap in my opinion. The only thing that's confusing to me is that I don't know which scenes are a hallucination and which ones are not.

Spoiler

Did she even text Gemma? Did Morris even get in touch with her? Did anything after Lewis' death really even happen? Did she really drink all that Voss water? I need the answers!

Also the Skye Riley EP is such a bop. Blood on White Satin and Death of Me are so good, I've added them to my playlist.

Great movie :clap3:

My only gripe was not knowing what was real and what wasn't. But the potential that Smile 3 can take on from the ending :DWAS:

Nnn I've always been a horror movie fan and I'm starting to get back into them :eli:

Send me good suggestions. I have The Substance next up on my list

This might be the best sequel for a horror film that I've watched in a very long time. The ending + credits rolling and the music playing over really creeped me out.

I'm kinda shook that an EP from a fake pop star is better than some actual efforts from MPGs this year

that was kinda the point of the movie, not knowing what was real and what was not. but the ending pretty much said everything and it made me love the movie even more.
