That would create like a whole ripple effect This was good! 1

I got huge Black Swan/Suspiria vibes from that. A fantastic scene Spoiler The audible gasp in my audience when she ended up getting fisted was wild

Enrique523 Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Honestly i think the best thing they could do with a 3rd film is not to make it too big and apocalyptic but instead focus on a small group of people all infected with the curse in a more reclused place, all trying to help each other to get rid of the curse. We could see how the curse can affect several people at the same time through that. It could happen several days after the end of Smile 2 and we could see the broader impact of the disaster through TV news, stuff like that. If they make it too big and apocalyptic i'm afraid it could lose all the tension the first two movies had. And tension is ESSENTIAL for Smile, they can't turn it into a big monster feast, it's not Resident Evil. 1

Robburro Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Skye Riley EP is better than most of the pop girlies releases... shook 4
madonnafan18 Posted October 23 Posted October 23 This was a fun watch! Naomi Scott was terrific. Looking forward to Smile 3. 1

It's pretty good. He also played a mall shooter in an episode of Cold Case like 15 years ago 1

nsst Posted October 23 Posted October 23 hold awn... I know i said i couldn't get into the first movie, but the second one is actually really good! I saw you guys discussing how the third one might take an apocalyptic turn, and I'd definitely be interested in seeing where they go with it, tbh. If they can expand on the trauma themes from the first two, but on a larger scale, it could get pretty intense... just think about how chaotic it could be to tackle both personal demons and an external catastrophe 1
XxHeadstrongxX Posted October 26 Posted October 26 I remember that I hated the first movie. Second movie was good/ok. Naomi was fantastic af
wantedyoutogrow Posted October 26 Posted October 26 I liked the movie a lot but… Spoiler The whole "main character dies at the end" shtick is kinda predictable. Like it worked for the first movie but they have to switch it up for Smile 3

Like it worked for the first movie but they have to switch it up for Smile 3 yeah there is something I dont quite like about how Spoiler extremely hopeless these movies are. it just seems like the monster/entity is too powerful and knowing to ever do anything about it, which makes the movie ironically less exciting. at no point during this movie did I think that Skye would survive. 1

Like it worked for the first movie but they have to switch it up for Smile 3 they're kinda stuck unless the writing is good enough that they can Spoiler 1. write it so that you can somehow beat the entity in some way --> the cop kinda did it in the beginning of the movie but then he just died immediately afterwards and passed the curse on, they kinda explored it with Skye trying to stop her heart (in a hallucination) but it would be nice to see if it actually works. 2. the ending of smile 2 kinda pushes the writing into a corner cause you have the curse spreading to a bunch of people --> unless they can write it so only 1 person at a time can get the curse (but that's also kinda shitty writing)
Ichinaru19 Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Smile 2 totally went down the route I was imagining, it was well done Smile and Smile 2 are shaping up to be "prequels" to an apocalyptic-like movie like Bird Box

Seems to be there is a vision with where they want to take this and it doesn't seem like there is necessarily going to be a "solution" to the main characters dying

Idk, I guess that'd make the most sense. Either that or 2 people that have it kill each other at the same time without anyone watching so that it can't latch on to anyone else. I could see this as a possible ending for 3 before it's like, surprise: here's 4 because somebody did actually witness it (or someone entirely else still has it).
mrmitch31 Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Miss Naomi did what she needed to do, no notes! But I have questions… Spoiler How did the opening kill guy transfer the entity to Louis if he never smiled at him and he was killed by the truck? Shouldn't that have ended the cycle? Also, the twist while well executed I don't like that we don't know what was real and what wasn't. I like that the audience is along for the ride with Skye and we also don't know what's real or not, but also I want to know what happened to her during the whole plot? Was Morris even real? If it happened after the dance scene in her room, she texted Gemma before that so I'm unsure. Can someone speak on it?
