She truly deserves it. people are praising tf out of her performance, so there's hope! 1
Enrique523 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 I'm SO excited to see this movie, can't wait. Really hope the ending of this film will be similar to the first one, if you guys see what i mean. 1

Fingers crossed for a part 3 Honestly i LOVE bleak endings, it's one of the main reasons why i love the first movie so much, the ending was fantastic. Hope for more of the same here, we can have a happier/more bittersweet ending for Smile 3 (which i'm 100% sure we're gonna get, there's no way this one flops at the box office). Enrique523 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 I've heard nothing but good things about this from several Youtubers whose opinion i trust, my hype level is going crazy right now. I was always excited to see this because i adored the first film and having a female pop star as the protagonist made it a MUST SEE. But i can't believe how good the reviews are so far, sounds like it's gonna be even better than i hoped. I expected it to be decent but kind of meh, especially since the trailers apparently did a pretty bad job at showing the quality of the film. 1
Johnny Jacobs Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Finally broke my bad movies strike in the theaters. It's better than the first one. 7.5/10 1

I only saw the first trailer only for that reason. The one thing that is gonna blow your mind is Naomi Scott's career breakthrough performance hands down 1 hour ago, Miles. said: This is getting raves everywhere. I had no idea it was out so soon! Can't wait to see it! As it should. The director and Naomi really gave it their all here. It's also exciting having a popstar centered horror movie done well and right and receiving success. 1 1

With friends family partners pets hook ups. Everyone involved did great. Especially Naomi Scott. She was fully committed to the role like Natalie Portman in Black Swan teas. I am so proud of her. It's only up from here for Miss Scott! 3 hours ago, Enrique523 said: Honestly i LOVE bleak endings, it's one of the main reasons why i love the first movie so much, the ending was fantastic. I went into the first movie high as **** with zero knowledge of the movie other than word of mouth. The ending of a horror movie can make or break the quality of alot of them and that was one thing the first got right. That ending was nothing short of fantastic. Yeah we're most likely gonna get a Smile 3 but my thing is that I hope that they take their time and only make it if they have a worthwhile story and satisfying conclusion because this second movie set the bar really high and I'd rather the series end on a high note. If they were to continue the series I think having the next character be of a parent to cover the mental health struggles of being a provider in this day, age, climate especially mothers would be a great arc and can also be tied and bittersweet way of ending the series. Also Naomi leading a franchise as a woman of color is yet another reason to support and check this out 1 1
Sweetestsecret Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Unfortunately, it will debut lower than the first movie. https://www.boxofficepro.com/weekend-preview-horror-reigns-with-smile-2-terrifier-3/

Endings are the most important thing to me, if you have a mostly great movie but a shitty ending, the movie may as well not exist as far as i'm concerned. Thankfully Smile didn't have that problem. 1

I hope WOM will be great and give the film longevity. 1
Roberto Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I can't at this getting good reviews. The trailer looked awful, tbh. Anyway, excited to watch it now.

What is so hard to believe? It has all of the same people involved, sure the trailers under sold the movie but that can work in it's favor technically. Again the director needs his flowers for successfully making a good horror sequel and Naomi Scott for her breakthrough performance as Skye Riley
SchmoodRing Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Spoiler Trigger warning for Directioners going to see this movie. Especially with the details coming out. It mirrors alot of the movies plot. Uncanny. RIP It'll make the reception and conversation surrounding the movie that much more nuanced as well.
Jude Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Watched this yesterday. I was definitely scared 101%. Sometimes i would cover my eyes with my hand. That ending was truly spooky. Can't wait to see Smile 3. Spoiler Would be interesting if they would make it an apocalyptic film since thousands have been infected.

Spoiler I think the angle for the next movie treating the SMILE curse like COVID making it a global pandemic and the ramifications of that lock down, vaccines etc could make for a great storyline and commentary. The next film like this one is gonna take place right after I'm assuming like another week tops. That'll be thousand of people's dead or passing the curse. Also their were also kids and teens present. The next film has the potential to essentially serve us a 28 Days Later SMILE style my only thing is how do we defeat such a thing? I feel like only babies, animals and blind folk are the only ones that can escape this curse unless that's how it ends with a literal global reset and the curse ends itself because it no longer has anything to fed off?

Yeah, it's similar to how I imagine the next film will be but if they can surprise me with a different plot then that would be great. Hopefully this movie gives them a lot of profit so the next sequel will have a bigger budget.
