Radical Pessimism Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I watched this today and I liked it. Spoiler That scene when fans? were chasing her in her apartment was so scary !!!
Maddox Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Just watched it a second time, gosh it's really good Naomi Scott best actress, Blood On White Satin best original song Let's get her on that Oscar stage!!
Baltie Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 I kid you not, I watched Smile 2 like right on the first day of November, and until now, I still play Blood On White Satin and Death of Me on REPEAT. I need this to be out on digital immediately so I can purchase and watch it again. Naomi Scott did that 2

I don't understand how it is not a BOS contender this year. Like we had to endure so many AWFUL songs over the year to fill that category. 2
Gladiator Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Naomi did amazing in this movie. I was so impressed!! 1
Maddox Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Spoiler Still upset that the demon couldn't let her finish the song b4 scaring her Like i was reeeally into it at the theater ugh... 1 3
Hollywood. Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Watched this tonight and will say it's a well made horror film and holds up to the first pretty good. Well the ending was kinda predictable, I do like how it was executed though. Great performances and wicked cinematography too.
fountain Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Luved this! Very fond of the Smile franchise overall tbh, they really hold no punches and put these girls THROUGH IT.. the movies have been brutal and the entity is an unstoppable diva The potential for the third installment after that final scene... 1
Konril Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Naomi Scott carried this movie. They upped the ante with the stakes on this movie with a higher profile victim leading to a somewhat predictable ending. It was enjoyable and well made but I prefer the smaller scale of the first one, it also was scarier too. Nonetheless, I can't wait what the next movie will offer Spoiler with now seemingly infecting more people.
Uncatena Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 and if I said the score alone is the reason this stands out among other horror movies then what I mean... who tf does **** like this???? 1
BeachRat Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 (edited) this was actually scary af. did what a horror movie in 2024 is supposed to do. Spoiler i still hate how they're kinda toying with the idea of trauma, depression and suicidal/intrusive thoughts winning, which is hella tacky and cheap. but i kinda made up my mind from the first movie till now and realised that if you wanna get scared in a post-2020 world you gotta trigger psychological/mental horror considering that all of us are affect by it. apart from that, wouldn't recommend it to any of my depressed friends lol. or anyone triggered easily. maybe a warming or something would be thoughtful? idk. anyway. in general great horror, get's under your skin (no pun intended) and leaves you hella creeped out. exactly what it should be doing. smile 3 should be CHAOS. Nido Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Naomi's performance definitely carried the movie. I've never seen such agonizing portrayal of a popstar crashing out lol. My only complaint is that the script is kinda predictable and I don't think the jump scares are as effective or creative as the first one.
Jude Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Does anyone know who was the burning person at the start of the film?
EnigmaticAndroid Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 20 minutes ago, Jude said: Does anyone know who was the burning person at the start of the film? Spoiler for the first film Spoiler It's the protagonist- Rose- of the first film. That film ended with her lighting herself on fire in front of Joel, the guy who we see at the beginning of the sequel. She passed the curse onto him and the demon made him see an apparition of her on fire.

Oh okay, kind of when Skye saw the gruesome appearance of the ghost Lewis when she was in her bathroom (or somewhere in her house). Thanks! Edited November 27, 2024 by Jude 1
MP3 Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Just watch it and it was great! Very tense from the beginning to the end, plenty of gores, some effective scares scene and the main actress was so good, it felt so real what she was experiencing, great acting! I just wish we could have seen the entire final scene and not just the camera on the crowd, it would have created an even more powerful and shocking ending
Cloröx Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 I watched both first and sequel yesterday, and the former definitely better. I hate the fact they did too much jump scare somehow it's tiring. That being said this franchise kinda "copy" the concept from It Follows which is one of the greatest if not the greatest horror movie of this century
