genetic fail Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 (edited) In theaters August 25th. Edited September 22, 2023 by genetic fail
Donquizote Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Not Bottoms. I was expecting a different kind of movie. 2
M!X Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 I am sorry but it's homophobic to call your show this, bait it with heathers in the description and then for it not to be about catty gays dragging and shading each others and fighting over 1 top guy in town 2 1
Isaiah Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Just read the plot synopsis and i love the premise/idea, so i was really disappointed when i skimmed the cast on imdb & realized this is primarily a lesbian/queer-girl film I definitely would've tuned-in if it was about guys 2 5

From the heathers comparison, to the title of the film, and reading "two gay students form a fight club to have sex before graduation" in the plot synopsis, all signs pointed to this being a messy *** film, so finding out its actually a sapphic qtpoc movie is really underwhelming 1 5

Headlock Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 “Omg messy gay (white) bottoms!!” *sees it is “sapphic qtpoc” movie* ”Underwhelming!!” Also “top” and “bottom” is used in queer female circles as well. Like, y’all really are telling on yourselves here, especially using “QTPOC” is a pejorative?? 2

I am a gay man with lived experiences and understanding of fellow gay men, so of course id prefer to watch a movie about us than one about a queer nonbinary girl or lesbians, etc. since i am not those things nor do i have any idea what its like to be them or how the inner-workings of their circles/communities work. yes the entire LGBTQ community should be on eachothers sides against bigotry, but each individual letter is its own community, and no two letters in the umbrella have the same experiences. That doesn't mean we view the rest of the community as inferior or lesser, it just means we are literally not the same actual demographic of people - also no shade to queer women but "top and bottom" used in their circles has always been kinda cringey since they use it to mean dom vs sub, when the titles of top and bottom refer to literal penetration-roles. Like im sorry but 99% of reasonable people would hear "theres a new gay movie coming out called bottoms" and immediately think its about bottom-men, please be serious 1 2
raven Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 How and why is this thread already a mess… Anyway, so excited to see this! Loved Rachel Sennott in bodiesx3
kandicha Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Rachel Sennott is so funny, can’t wait to see this

They're often left out.
Raptus Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 (edited) Lesbians are boring so i'm gonna pass And the GP agrees - gays have all the classics: moonlight, CMBYN, brokeback mountain, Happy together, God's Own Country, Philadelphia, A Single Man And lesbians have...Carol, i guess Edited March 15, 2023 by Raptus 2 3
josesuxx Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Gays like y'all are the absolute shame of the LGBT community the way y'all look down on lesbians.... Anyway, Rachel Sennott is a ******* STAR so I'll be tuning it
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Gay men pressed over a film that's not centered around them? Not surprise
Gui Blackout Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Shiva Baby was AMAZING. Emma and Rachel are the new power-duo. Can't wait for this.
Phaunzie Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 But why, Bottoms as the title for a film about lesbians. Isn't Bottom synonymous with a gay man that like being pounded.
