Even if you dont like her second album k-12 it’s extremely cohesive and serves premium pop. Ive never heard someone describe her music as amateurish. Personally, K-12 is horrendous and the production particular sounds so cheap. I’ve actually heard many people describe it as such. It’s very simplistic and lacks texture. Sounds like cartoon music often. And not in the colorful Charli XCX kind of way. That said, I’m gonna give this a listen and see how it is. She just makes me cringe so hard lyrically but I’m gonna go in with low expectations.

Not really a lead single material. who really cares about that kind of stuff anymore? it's quite obvious she doesn't. it's obviously just an introduction for the album, especially seeing as the entire album is dropping in 2 weeks. it doesn't need a "lead" single, because they're clearly not trying to push it to the masses.

Mke1979 Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Not lead first single material. I find it all over the place and not in a good way. It had potential too.
smoore95GAGA Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Am I the only one that doesn’t really see this as a lead single? Considering her last album didn’t have any singles, and the fact that this comes 2 weeks before the album, I see this as more of a taste of what the album is about.
Blue Monday Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 (edited) The chorus is very catchy but it’s kind of watered down Billie Eilish. You can tell they’re probably hoping it takes off on TikTok lol Edited March 17, 2023 by Blue Monday

bync Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 i really like this! and i've neverliked anything from melanie before decided to give it a listen because the concept of the era and the teasers she's been releasing looked very interesting to me, and i don't regret it!
ZORBIT Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 a great comeback track, it's edgy & chaotic but some of these vocal touches during the chorus...cringe
Danixoxo Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I really like it!! Sounds a lot more like her After School EP which I loved. Looking forward to the album.
smoore95GAGA Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 In what way does this sound like a Poppy or even a Charli song I can maybe hear touches of Billie, but I swear some of y’all haven’t heard the song.

Her lyrics are amazing and very insightful. What is so cringe about her lyrics? Did you even listen to k-12 more than once or let me guess, you heard a few songs, thought "eww wtf is this cringe!" then never listened again.

To be fair, when I heard “they call me crybaby, crybaby, but I don’t f****** care” the first time I definitely made this face The album as a whole is great tho, even tho K-12 is definitely superior. And Death alone is better than anything on either of those albums. She just gets better and better Edit: Wait not me just realizing y’all were talking about K-12 and not Cry Baby Edited March 17, 2023 by smoore95GAGA
lover. Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Madison Beer and Poppy WISH they were capable of making tracks this good.
yourfaveisaflop Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 It’s so good! I really can’t wait for the album.

It's like she took her lo-fi / R&B influences and then turned to its most generic forms for a good chunk of K-12 instrumentals, and add the very jarring SFX on top of that... very underwhelming.

I enjoy k-12 overall but points were definitely made cause the production is waaaay more bland & forgetable compared to Crybaby. And the lyrics too. Like, don't even get me started on Class Fight & that Detention bridge
pink lightning Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I really liked it! Nice opener for the album
