On what metric? Sales, streaming, touring, social media… Because Beyoncé is ahead on all of those metrics. Maybe  Shakira has bigger YouTube views but Beyoncé is bigger in literally everything else. I adore Shakira but let’s not be delusional

This is a question of fame and general interest, not stats. Google says Beyoncé beats her outside of Latin america, Northern Africa and Central Asia. That’s a lot of people left over, I think Beyoncé might be more global

Maybe because Beyoncé releases albums (English) more frequently than Shakira, that's why her interest is higher.

 

Shakira just releases collab droplets and the interest is divided between her collaborators

Are you sure cuz I feel like shakira always has a song out  and it’s always a YouTube SMASH. She also was on the voice, idk i just feel like she’s in the media way more than beyoncé who steps outside twice a year nowadays. She doesn’t even give us the website updates anymore  her star power is unmatched imo but I think both are households names on every corner of earth. The narrative that Beyoncé is not as global as other girls is so wrong though

But I thought in that Bey vs Tay (who is bigger or whatever) thread, certain stans were saying stats aren't the only metric to measure how big an artist is. Now I'm seeing stats fly all over the place. 

 

I would go with Bey for recognition. Shakira is a legend too and for her to crossover from Spanish to English with such success is nothing to scoff at.

When it comes to fame. Its always Bey vs someone else. Bey vs Taylor, Bey vs Shakira. Some weeks ago on twitter, it was Bey vs Ronaldo, who is more famous, that was trending. The fact that Bey is mostly the reference and standard of comparison in this discussions speaks volume. She is the standard and most global celebrity in the world right now after Ronaldo and Messi.
