To be honest, I agree and always found it weird why some artists (specifically Nicki) choose to go this route, but realistically speaking this has also led to her having many iconic and memorable verses (especially around her debut in 2010). 

 

But it is hilarious when a song is about a specific topic like love and she comes on rapping about her *****, shooters, and dragging girls
