Beyoncé or Taylor Swift – Bigger after 17 years into their careers?

Beyoncé. Taylor has the stat for sure but Beyoncé career is more iconic. Destiny child being one of the biggest girls group of all time(an iconic group in their own right), beinh famous for her female empowerment signature songs , black empowerment, best live performer, her iconic releases (self titled and lemonade), just a lot to mention. She has a more interesting and iconic career.

Bey and Taylor are relatively equal in Europe depending on the era. It should be easier for Taylor to appeal to them for one (regarding temporary R&B routinely underperforming there) but that’s not even the case. Outside of the western world, streams and the likes become less obvious. Africa for example would think of Beyoncé as the biggest star of the word. No questions asked. Can you look to Spotify or Apple to prove it, no, unless you wanna get dense. Taylor does have more appeal in Asia, but it’s not something that balances out the fact that Bey is more of a legend between Europe and Africa. Not when genres like KPop stars look to Bey for inspiration more l than they’ll ever look to Taylor for inspiration. Similar in the way Taylor has an upper hand over Bey when it comes to the conservative, white breed in America when it comes to “the children”. The fact that Bey is far more POLARIZING and controversial makes her bigger on a cultural scale. Taylor is only bigger than her regarding streams and sales. That’s very impressive in itself, but to argue Taylor is bigger than her culturally is where y’all need too start humbling yourselves. It’s not just some made up measure when you consider demography and politics.

My post was not about who is bigger in each continent. The person i quoted claimed that Taylor is only big among white audiences so i bring up her relevance in Asia and LATAM. 

And if she was easily big among white audiences as that user claimed, she wouldn't flop in Europe for almost half of her career. 

 

And i totally disagree about Beyonce being culturally more relevant in Asia or among Kpop groups.

So can you provide any valid metric that an actual measurable number implies Bey is bigger than Tay besides delusion? Like the sales, the tour, the streams, not the number of songs playing in my nearest gay club

Really? But for me, Taylor Swift is more famous/successful than Bey and Rihanna in NA/Oceania/Asia, which holds the majority populations/areas
of the world, and she is in the same league with them in South America/UK. Nice to exchange information with you though 

 

Yes, the sales numbers don't mean anything, but it definitely more representative than any individual feeling/delusion

If Beyoncé has bigger star power, then why are like... all her US tour dates yet to sell out? You can quite literally get tickets for $50. Meanwhile Taylor's tour broke Ticketmaster and was completely sold out before general sale even started. Yet she has less star power?
