Marianne Williamson responds to Biden's Press Secretary smug comment on her candidacy

Maybe I'm just jaded, but I absolutely hated Marianne Williamson's comments regarding antidepressant medication. She tried backtracking when interviewed by Anderson Cooper, but after Williamson's insensitive comments towards psychiatric medication, I couldn't care less what she says.

Also this response is f_cking stupid since the press secretary was joking about herself mind reading Biden's thoughts and trying to figure out what they are based on Ms. Williamson's aura. The reporter directly asked a question about the President's feelings towards Ms. Williamson. She said, I'm not tracking that. I don't have a crystal ball or magic 8 ball or know how to gage her aura. 

 

She was being facetious but she wasn't even talking about Marianne. She was talking about guessing Biden's feelings. 

 

 

What the hell is Marianne implying? What the hell are you implying with this thread? That a black woman should be fired because a white woman feels unjustifiably offended.

Again, you've still not provided any answer for why people shouldn't entertain someone running as the only candidate supporting a major policy that a majority of Americans support. 

 

Either you don't think policy matters in politics or don't want poor people to have equitable healthcare. I pray it's the former. 

 

If you're truly that partisan that you irrationally hate someone because you don't think primaries / democracy is good, then the simple solution is that Biden should just end her candidacy now by adopting some of her policies like universal healthcare. Why won't he support universal healthcare?

Sis, accusing progressives of being antiblack for criticizing the Democratoc establishment didn't work in 2016 or 2020 and isn't going to work in 2024. Especially not when the progressives you hate have largely non-white and black support. 

 

The new Morning Consult poll shows Marianne polls best with black voters under 30. 

 

She polls worst with white voters. I imagine we can see that from how most of you have spent the last few days deliriously screaming over an issues candidate challenging Biden from the left.

And how many years ago was that? I mean her initial comments about antidepressants? Give people a chance to change their mind. And can you deny that in America the first response is always to medicate the patient rather than to get to the root cause of whatever life situation might be causing temporary sadness or depression to the patient? And if the depression is chronic then ofc you mediate. But there has to be an honest debate about what needs medication and what could be helped by other means.

I like Marianne (sometimes) and I support leftist alternatives to Biden, but I'll be honest I genuinely think her spiritualism/spiritualist rhetoric is grating. 

 

I know this sounds bad but I really wish she would "rein it in" - yes, I'm aware how this sounds (which is why I would not apply this to other contexts) but this goes beyond my position as a cynical atheist, as I think a lot of her concrete policy/vision gets lost in what is VERY easy to interpret as ~kooky.

 

I also don't think she's super articulate all the time, I saw her video she just did with The Gravel Institute and once again found myself frustrated at her rhetoric (though admittedly that was a nicely structured video and one that was still focused). By comparison she sounded so much more articulate in her interview with Vaush, of all people...

Well that's the thing. It seems like she has sharpened her messaging, especially if compared to 2020. And her interviews from the last few weeks have been mostly great. But it's gonna be hard from her to shake off the kooky image. And ofc the Dems establishment will try to remind people about it all the time.
