I'm still not sold on the production but the lyrics and the melody hits home. I did listen with my eyes closed and the song felt so much deeper.

 

I agree still that it's super generic, I feel like I would enjoy it more as a stripped acoustic song, which is what I expected for this record.

 

Nevertheless, the song is actually really good. A generic but return to form Sheeran.

The production has some cute 10s charm to it, the bass is giving some Circut and Dr Luke early 2010s bop like Locked Away and Ain't Your Mama etc, it's cute  I think it'll be a big hit but nothing crazy, just on par with the = hits but maybe a bit smaller

I like this over the cheap pop sound of his latest album, however, I was expecting stripped sound for this album, devasting lyrics and overall sadness turned into a song by the description of the album, I guess he/his team can't accept an era without a smash hit and they had to release this... I hope the deep cuts of the album are more in the line of the whole subtract concept and he goes back to his roots
