Wait I didn’t even know he was from The Voice wtf, finally a big artist coming from the show

He didn't even make it to the live shows. That's like American Idol taking credit for Lauren Daigle :toofunny3:

Exactly. Really the only success from The Voice was this, though the song is much bigger than she is:

Thank you. Yet ATRL has been praising her up and down and the past ten weeks. Wonder what’s different …

If US used Android over iPhone, this wouldn't be happening right now on Apple Music

But... I have Apple Music on my Android.

And him doing this well on AM means he is doing a bit worse on Spotify. I certainly take that

Not a surprise to me. Don't Think Jesus has been out since last April, and faded away really fast. This will likely be the one that prevents Morgan from charting all 36 on the Hot 100, since I don't see this one coming close to the Top 50 needed to re-enter.

I faded really fast, but still charted for 20 weeks to go recurrent? Huh? :gaycat6:

I mean all things considered this is a good sign for the music industry that a country artist can crack AM US given its hiphop leaning base, showcases healthy growth in user base disparity. At least we can hope soon more country boys/girlies will be able to eventually cross over as well

HOWEVER I am disheartened because its this guy out of all of them, cheating daddy Sam Hunt outdeserved!

Country has been big on AM for a while. Luke Combs has had huge success there as well. It seems like genres that appeal to young masculine men like hip hop and country have a bigger presence on Apple Music than on Spotify. The platform just feels straighter than Spotify for some reason. Maybe it's the ugly layout.

Taylor is probably holding off on releasing until after Midnights era has run its course. Lavender Haze and Anti-Hero are still doing well

i think the theory is that Tay is waiting until after Lana's album has been out for a while cos Jack Antonoff produced that one too

so real honey turkey... my song titles might occasionally be basic but at least I rebuff heteronormativity in my music tbh. I just can't relate to male musicians most of the time, that's why the only country I ever listen to is by women, and most artists I listen to in general are women :giraffe:

As a black person, I don’t understand the whole he’s racist narrative. He called his white friend the n word and I don’t understand how is that a racist thing ? it was ignorant on his part.

It’s not like he’s saying it to a black person? There’ are serious racist issue and racism going on in the world but this ain’t it.

might i suggest a few homosexual country music singers then? :giraffe:

im lowkey obsessed with Sam Williams at times  (the link is to the music video in which he came out publicly with; also, he's the grandson of Hank Williams so thats extra cool)

and theres the obvious ones: Orville Peck and Trixie Mattel

there was a Cameron Hawthorne song i liked but cant quite remember which. i remember the title Mustang but also cant be bothered to check since i dont listen to him like at all, country music isnt really my thing. im more into Pop, Metal/Hardcore and Jazz/Traditional Pop than i am into Country :bird:

You're talking about Ty Henderson and his song Blame it on the Mustang, but Cameron Hawthorne is also another gay country singer. I only know dancing in the living room though
